Aimed at women who are techno-relating, Kristina Grish's The Joy of Text decodes e-mails, Blackberry messages and IMs to determine what they are really saying. (Hint: Timing and tone are just as important as the text.)

How long do you wait to respond to an e-mail message (up to three days is not insulting, she believes) and text messages (more than a few hours is probably a brushoff)? Misspellings can be cute (or can make you look like a moron - depending on your technomate). Too many exclamation points make you look like a spaz.
