Frye Veronica Slouch (Sand) - Boots

First to recommend

Description

Each year I struggle to find the perfect pair of boots that go with skirts, pants, the newest trend, and last year's sweater. The last couple of years this was a bigger challenge than most, but finally this year I bought the Frye Veronica Slouch in sand. They're sooo comfy. Not only can I walk around in them all day, but they look equally fab with skirts & tights as worn over my skinny jeans. I'm particularly fond of the Sand color because it goes with both brown and black outfits. The nubuck leather gives this otherwise edgy "engineer boot" a real feminine twist.

Orla Kiely Reversible Pocket Tote

First to recommend

Description

My mom always told me that a great handbag makes the outfit....and this one by Orla Kiely absolutely makes the grade! I love the shape and it's many pockets to hold all my little tidbits such as cell phone, lip balm, handsfree earbud, keys, etc. (You get the point.) It's easy to carry and lightweight...and the grey wool tweed seems to go with every outfit. It's also nice that the designer paid attention to the little details with this bag, in that she put a leather bottom with feet to ensure it will hold up for a long time to come.

Tretorn Plask Rubber Wellies (with heels!)

First to recommend

Description

I'm officially obsessed with wellies. I own several pairs, but this pair from Tretorn is my favorite because I can wear them with a skirt or under pants. Either way I look dressed up rather than as if I'm about to muck out barn stalls!!! (P.s. Did I mention that they're comfy enough to wear ALL day on your feet?! I swear they're that great!)

Hunter 3 Buckle Wellie

Description

As I've stated before, I'm a huge fan of wellies. Maybe it's because I hate getting my feet wet? Maybe it's because it rains so much in Philadelphia and there are always lots of big puddles? But I know mostly it's because they're so easy to slide on and off, they're comfy and they (surprisingly) look good with everything. These traditional Hunter 3 buckle wellies are awesome because they're just that....traditional. They look like something that you'd see an little English lass tramping around in in her garden. And I love it! Plus they look soooo darn cute on!!

Something Old, Something New Purse

First to recommend

Description

I have a [different shaped] bag made from recycled European wool blankets, and it has the most wonderful texture...as well as a unique look that is subtle yet still manages to garner compliments. Anyways...this shape is absolutely the cutest. It reminds me of those seventies handbags that I carried around as a kid, only this one is updated for modern sensibilities. And the fact that it's made of recycled wool blankets? Well, that's just gravy.

Pan Am Secret Agent Laptop Bag

Description

The editor at Shelterrific had the exact same reaction to this bag that I did. "OMG! I loved the movie 'Catch Me If You Can.'" Well, if you want to pretend like your living in the early 60's and about to rush to the airport to catch a plane to Vegas to hang out with the Rat Pack (who doesn't right?!), then this bag is the one for you!!! If nothing else, I know I'm always looking for a cool laptop bag....even for those times when I'm not doing anything special. (via Shelterrific)

Hudson Jeans Wide Leg Stretch Jeans (Pure Wash)

First to recommend

Description

I love jeans. (Especially jeans that make your butt look smaller than it actually is.) Well, these jeans do just that. I have purchased aproximately 5 pairs of Hudson jeans b/c of the great fit, pocket detailing, and variety of styles available. This particular pair is one of my favorites b/c it functions less like denim, and more like a wide leg trouser. It's something I can get away with wearing to work on those days when I want to look "dressed-up."

One word of caution though. These run SUPER long, so unless you're 6'2", you'll need to get them hemmed.

Thinker & Feeler Necklace

First to recommend

Description

My friend and co-worker owns this necklace, and I covet it each time I see her wear it. I realize it's not that expensive, and I should just buy it for myself...but I haven't because she wears it all the time....and I don't want to be her "twin." After all, we're not 12 years old anymore. But nevertheless, this necklace is completely adorable in a sophisticated way. It's made from cloissonne and 18K gold plated silver....and costs only $38! And if you happen to not like owls, the red color way is a heart!

The New English Dandy

First to recommend

Description

This is definitely a great gift for the man who likes to be well-dressed. Dandy-ism has been a trend in England for....well.....centuries, and this book shows it's modern day interpretations. There are some of the coolest dressed men I've ever seen in this book. And even though I'm not a guy, and I purchased it for myself....it looks GREAT on my coffee table.

Wool Stadium-cloth Trench Coat

First to recommend

2 people recommended this item

Description

Rather than the more expected wool pea coat, why not buy yourself this lovely wool trench coat. It's an update to a classic style Fall style. (Particularly beautiful in yellow. My friend has it and I covet it.) The details on the arms are great, and of course, I love the fact that it has a detailed lining too. If I were going to meet Humphrey Bogart in the fog, this is the trench coat I'd want to be wearing.
