Cafe DVD -- online dvd rental - movie rentals by mail

First to recommend

Description

I recently stumbled upon this and have not tried them out, so I don't know much about it yet. But a quick glance caused a raised eyebrow. I do like what I am seeing so far, with categories titled "Best of Bergman", "Best of Avante Garde", and "Vatican Picks" (LOL). Nice selections with a few titles I have not seen even on Cine Green. I will update this listing once I actually give them a test run.

Description

Another one I have not tried but unlike CafeDVD, will probably not bother trying. Very mainstream fare. You could get any of this from Netflix. Qwikfliks claim to fame seems to be their pricing and delivery option which I detail below (actually they detail, I just copied and pasted).

Standard Plans Vs. Rapid Return™

What are Standard Plans?

All the other dvd movie rental companies call these "Unlimited" or "All You Can See" rental plans. It's the standard plan that all those guys have (including QwikFliks) where you pay a set monthly fee to receive 2-4 movies out at a time and see however many movies it is possible given delivery time, availability of titles, Postal holiday's, etc. These are the only plans those guys (Netflix, Blockbuster, etc.) offer. Average fee is about $19 a month for 3 out at a time.

But how many movies do you really see?

Most people enjoy the convenience of receiving dvd movies in the mail, but only see about 4 to 8 movies a month. So why pay $19 a month to see 4 or 6 movies?

Do any of these companies provide refunds if you only see 4 movies?

No way. You pay for the full month of service and it's your problem if you only see 2 or 4 movies.

And what about the turn-around time?

Turn-around is the time it takes for a replacement dvd movie to come to you after putting one in the mail. Day one, you put it in the mail. Day two the post office ships it around to where it's going. Day 3 it arrives at their warehouse. Day 4 they ship back to you. So it's on its way!

Seems kind of slow.

QwikFliks' Rapid Return to the rescue!

QwikFliks has put together the best of all plans to provide a much better rental experience. Pay for what you'll see, more plans, more variety and reduce the turn-around time. We call it Rapid Return and it provides for a flexible, faster and inexpensive way to rent movies. The best way to rent dvd movies!

What's the costs?

Why pay those guys $19 a month to see 4 movies when you can pay only $10.95! Want to see 6 movies this month, upgrade to 6 movi`es per month for only $13.95. Now you want to see 8? Change the plan and pay only $16.95. Busy month, only have time for 4 again? Downgrade to the 4 plan for that $10.95. Want to see 30 movies this month? Not with Blockbuster. Not with Netflix. Only our Rapid Return can get you 30, 35 or 40 dvd movies in a single month! The best method for dvd rentals.

That's flexible, but what about turn-around?

When you pop it in the mail, you have 2 choices. Do nothing and your next selection will be shipped out as soon as the movie is returned. Or, jump online and tell us you've placed it in the mail by using our simple return notification system. We'll ship out your next selection ASAP! See diagram below!
