The Weekend Baker - Abigail Johnson Dodge

First to recommend

Description

This book is an amazing resource for anyone looking to start baking real food at home. I've had good to crazy-good results with all the recipes I've tried from this trusty book. Thanks to Abigail Johnson Dodge, I can whip out biscuits, ginger spice cookies and brownies with ease!

It's a must for anyone who wants to get hot with his or her oven, but needs a good primer with some solid recipes to start making tasty things!

Martha Stewart's Cookies: The Very Best Treats to Bake and to Share

Description

Man, this book is the JAM! Each cookie recipe has a corresponding picture--it's COOKIE PORN! I am a huge fan of this book, and the snickerdoodle recipe has turned out stellar for me. The ingredients are, on the whole, not too esoteric, so it's home-baker-friendly.

It's well-organised, and the cookies I've made with it have been mainstays of mine.

I'm especially keen on nonfiction, but like fiction as well. Magazines are featured here, too.
