Zingermans- gingerbread coffeecake
First to recommend
2 people recommended this item
Description
You can't beat Zingerman's for mail-order goodies. Their sour cream
coffee cake is my favorite hostess gift, but this gingerbread cake is
so tempting now that the weather is cool... Comes in big and small
sizes, and the customer service is incredible.

Rustichella d'Abruzzo Italian Pasta/Pastas
First to recommend
Description
Not that I don't cook a lot of pasta year-round, but it's certainly
nicer to steam up the kitchen when it's cool out. Rustichella
d'Abruzzo makes some of the best pasta I've ever had, and I'm
particularly fond of their bucatini--like a fat spaghetti with a hole
in the middle. Makes a killer carbonara.

SoundDock Portable Digital Music System

Description
I love my Bose SoundDock but I'm really liking this new
portable version, which is lighter and has a retractable base for the
ipod. This would make it even easier to take the music where the party
is.

Totally creepy and utterly irresistible: Freakily life-like skulls
made from bittersweet chocolate and luscious fillings like scorched
caramel.

LUMEN TREE SHADOW OIL LAMPS

Description
This tealight holders cast tree shadows on the wall--cool any time,
but a particularly nice spooky look for Halloween. Avoid the cute
birds if you want to keep it Halloween-y...

Williams-Sonoma Kitchenaid Pro
First to recommend
2 people recommended this item
Description
I resisted Kitchenaid for ages (I even refused to
put it on the wedding registry!), but last year I gave in and got the
Kitchenaid Pro. To my surprise and relief, I love it; it mixes so
evenly and makes baking much faster and easier. I like that with the
Pro model you lower and raise the bowl, instead of lifting the head of
the mixer.

Chrome Heavy Duty Mixer/Appliance Lift
First to recommend
Description
This doesn't look pretty in photos, but if you have the space I highly recommend it. We are lucky enough to have a butler's pantry that holds all our dishes, so when we installed cabinets to hold our new counters(!) We also installed this appliance lift so the mixer can tuck out of the way under the counter, and then lift up when I need it. It was tricky to install but it works great. (Note: You need to provide the shelf to fit your cabinet, it just comes with the arms and brackets.)

Gothic Dinner Plate Set
5 people recommended this item
Description
Melamine plates with printed-on doilies; these would be great piled
with black and white snacks at a Halloween party. Or they'd be fun to
display on a wall like old-fashioned china.

Black Lace Bowl-MoMa Store

Description
More fake lace: I'd like to fill this with dinner rolls, or use it as
a centerpiece, full or artichokes or little white pumpkins.

Emile Henry Pumpkin-Orange Pie Dish

Description
Gear up for all the lovely autumn pies with new pie plates from Emile
Henry. I have green ones, myself, but this orange is nicely pumpkiny.
