About this list:
If there was any question, Bonnaroo has proven itself has the premiere music festival. I was so excited about the lineup, that i decided to go ahead and make a list for you guys. Hopefully, it'll encourage some of you to suck it up and go. For the others, I think it should serve as a fun reference point to good, yet eclectic music. These are my favorite albums from my favorite musicians heading to Manchester Tennessee this summer.

Because what good is an Emo Pirate list without EMO tracks for the pirates to whine to? And Caroline mentioned "Then you definitely have to throw in one or two Decemberists albums (their most recent one isn't quite as pirate-y as earlier releases like "Picaresque" or "Castaways and Cutouts."" So here is one of many options for your emo pirates listening pleasure!

Description
mashup virtuoso greg gillis's newest album dropped yesterday, and it's predictably weird and outstanding (jay-z over radiohead's "paranoid android", for instance). they're following the radiohead/trent reznor "pay what you want" model, but with a twist--any donation gets you 320mp3, $5+ gets you flac format, and $10 gets you a physical copy when it comes out on cd.

It's becoming increasingly obvious that this is my favorite album of the year. It's a completely un-expecting little folk album that for some reason draws you in.

I wouldn't be pushing it if I said that Animal Collective is bar none one of the most progressive bands of our time. I had the please of listening to this one before it dropped (expect it jan. 20) and, I wont lie. I like it better than Sung Tongs

Her songs are beautiful and her lyrics are progressively transforming. There's really not much more to say about that besides that this is an album everyone should have in their collection.

Jenny Lewis | Acid Tongue (2008)

Description
In case you need the credentials, Jenny Lewis is actually one of the founding member of Rilo Kiley and a lead singer. But, don't be confused her solo stuff is quite different (but probably better). People who like music will like this.

Every Waking Moment: Citizen Cope

Description
Known as the moniker Citizen Cope, this is the third album from Clearence Greenwood. For one reason or another, his music is notoriously ending up on soundtracks and television shows and all of the alike. So, it's hard to pick a favorite. So, I went with the album that has done the best.
