A great twist on the traditional delivery of a plate of Christmas cookies...

Trixiedelicious's Etsy shop has been one of my indulgences of late. I keep popping over and picking up a plate or two, some teacups.... the collection is growing. It's a fabulous hostess or birthday gift and would make a really unique holiday present for someone you know with a sense of humour. Think of making a gift basket with winter warm-ups and a tongue-in-cheek item or two from this shop. Sure to be a hit.

Kris Holm Mountain Unicycle

If you thought keeping your arse upright on one wheel was challenge enough, let me tell you a little something- there are actual humans out there who not only have accomplished that but have taken it outside the circus tent and into the mountains. That's right- mountain unicyclists. They must be descended from the same cavemen (or cavewomen) who first looked at a rock and had the chutzpah, skill and patience to whittle it into a wheel. Then ride it. A different breed, I tell ya.

I sought out the help of Wikipedia to find out what, exactly, differentiates a unicycle from its badass mountain cousin and found this: "unicycles typically lack a gear system, preventing the user from coasting or reaching high speeds. Mountain unicycling usually takes place on specially designed unicycles, which are equipped with strong hubs, large, knobby tires, and rugged frames."

Ok. That still won't help me keep my nose out of the gravel. Sigh.

Tootsie - 25th Anniversary Edition

I recently pulled this one out from the back of the cabinet, dusted it off and tossed it into the DVD for a moviefest night with my kids.

God, I can't believe I had forgotten how great it is! The kids have requested it a few times since so it is definitely one of the flicks that retains its charm from one generation to the next.
