Southern Telecom Fur Phone

First to recommend

Description

The great thing about dorm rooms is the free landline. This phone is really ugly but also hilarious. It's corded, redial, and flash (a feature that won't get any use on a college landline).

Description

A pretty inexpensive phone for making those free on-campus calls (and free incoming calls from mom) on your school's landline.

Memorex Mi8000BLK iFlip 8.4-Inch Portable Video System for iPod (Black)

First to recommend

Description

I decided to go all the way across the country for college. That meant six hour plane rides between school and home anywhere from 2-5 times a year. With the help of a good book, magazines, my iPod, and this iFlip it made traveling almost fun. It can act as a speaker set and play music, or (what I use it exclusively for) playing the videos and movies on your iPod. The sound is great, though I mainly used headphones. It keeps a pretty good charge- about 5 hours. You can hook it up to your tv for a bigger picture, if you like.

College students need to use pens, pencils, a whole lot of highlighters, page markers, and white out. Where to keep them all- in a cute little pouch like this one from Lisa Frank.

Clorox Disinfecting Wipes

Description

I use these all the time in my house. Common germy places are door handles, toilets, telephones, keyboards, remotes, tv buttons, etc. Great and easy way to disinfect your things and feel more comfortable eating a sandwich after typing on your keyboard at work.

Oh and for college? These are essential. Those bathrooms and door handles and everything in between get soo nasty. A good disinfectant is a must.

One of my favorite "off to college" gifts was a cotton jersey "favorite t-shirt" sheet set. So incredibly soft and comfortable.

This printer is great. It's all-in-one (except fax, of course) so you can scan and copy notes, print your papers, and photos if you like.
