large market bag brown

Description

Brilliant use of Tyvek (the material they use for those US Postal envelopes). It's light like paper but strong like plastic. Because... it is basically plastic. IT's made of high-density polyethelene. Great as a reusable bag because it can fold small and store easily.

eco messenger bag

Description

These are my new favorite bags this season. These well-desgined bags are made from reclaimed Vietnamese rice bags, with reinforced lining and added functionality, such as cell phone holder, zippered inside pocket, pen slots and more. They've even included a zippered closure in their design, which is a huge plus. Those single snaps do not keep small wallets inside when bag is tossed around. Cut from different pieces of the bags, each piece will be unique. I noticed that each color is also slightly unique, as well. Makes a great gift for ages 13 to 103. Very reasonably priced, as well.

Unfortunately, difficult to find online. But you can send them an email at info@geckotraders.com to get a store location near you.

Description

Totally hot! Bag is made of reclaimed materials from two doners - The cover flap is from old postsack and the bag-body from old truck tarpauli. Made to true bike messenger style, it sports a shoulder autobelt, as well as a lap belt in the back. (via PedalMafia)

Description

I've owned the messenger bag for a few years now, and I love it still. I'm glad to see the manufacturer branched out to additional styles. I love these little cosmetic bags. The fact that they're recycled Vietnamese rice bags make it even more special for me personally.

RECYCLED NEWSPAPER MARKET TOTE BAG

Description

Great application using recycled newspaper. I'm not sure the strength of the handles though... Probably more for lightweight shopping. No canned foods probably.

RECYCLED SAIL TOTES

Description

I've always loved these recycled sail tote bags. I'm glad to see them offering more styles. These totes are better than some I've seen because the lines are better. The shape is that of a french market basket, which is totally cute.

Chilewich: Woven Vinyl Zip Bag

First to recommend

Description

My sister-in-law Krysti is very picky about her bags. She's so frustrated she wants to make her own to sell. She likes these, and I do too. I have Chilewich ottomans, believe it or not. White ones, that are a bit on the biege/gray side. Although they're washable, they can't out-do the dogs.
