Memorial Day has just passed, which means ... it's summer! Sure the real summer doesn't officially begin until the end of June but it's the unofficial start, which means I officially break out my summer cosmetics. I have actually received the compliment "Wow, your makeup looks so good" with this face. So follow this list and you can be a summer hottie too.

I usually stay away from drugstore beauty products but last week as I was nosing around CVS while waiting for a prescription to be filled I saw that Loreal's HIP cosmetic line was buy one get one free. Since I am not one to pass up a sale I picked up 2 of the eyeshadow duos. There weren't many colors left but I managed to find 2 that I liked.

Playful was something that I usually wouldn't buy, when it comes to eye shadows I always buy crazy colors. I am glad I got this one though because since I bought it I have been wearing it almost everyday. The color goes on smooth and the color is nice an intense. Perfect for my summer face.

Hourglass Cosmetics- Blush Duo

I am not usually into blush because its so darn hard to put on. Because of my fear I usually go with a cream blush or a blush stick from Tarte. However, I got this nice blush palette by Hourglass as a Christmas present and hello I am in love.

The kit comes with a darker shade and a lighter shade which helps define your cheek bones. I sweep the darker shade along my cheekbones and then dab the lighter shade on the apples of my cheeks. The power goes on pretty dark so blending is required, but the make up doesn't feel heavy on the face at all.

You can choose between two different color combinations: Brazilian for darker skin (which is what I use) and Burlesque which has peachier and pink shades for more fair complexions. (via We Love Beauty)

Description

After going a year or so without any eyeshadow primer, this is simply a miracle for me. I've never had my eyeshadow look just as perfect at the end of the day as it did when I finished it... and I am psyched! It even keeps cheap drugstore quality eyeshadow looking its best, and that makes me one very happy girl.

Smashbox High Definition Healthy FX Foundation SPF 15: Liquid Foundation

Seriously, where has this product been all of my life? I used to use Smashbox's mouse foundation but they have discontinued it. The makeup artist at Sephora helped me find an alternative which was this magical stuff.

It goes on light and get this, it's actually good for your skin! The coverage is pretty amazing for something so lightweight and it looks just like your natural skin when its on. No creepy mask like finish at all. I will NEVER use another foundation again, this one is too perfect.

Smashbox Function5 Self Adjusting Powder Foundation: Powder Foundation

Description

As much a I hate to turn my back on MAC ... this powder is the best. Used it for the first time yesterday and just like all of Smashbox's face products, this one is a real winner. Apply dry with a brush for a light amount of coverage or we with a sponge for maximum coverage. Try this stuff and you won't be disappointed.

Smashbox Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer

Best concealer ever! EVER! Dark circles ... gone. Scars ... gone. Blemishes .... gone. Not sure how I lived without this product but I promise you that not a day will go by without using stuff. Also is great to have after those late party nights ... you can't go around looking like you have partied all night.

Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes: Eyeliner

After going to Sephora in search of my Chanel waterproof eyeliner only to find that Sephora doesn't carry Chanel eyeliner in the store, I had to settle for something else.

I am glad I did.

I was pointed to Make Up For Ever's waterproof eyeliner pencil and I love it. Not only was it $10 cheap than Chanel's it seems to me like it's just as fabulous.

Today was my first day using it. I put it on at 9:00am and here it is past 3:00 and my liner is still in place. My eyeshadow is all creased but that is an issue all on it's own (damn you MAC-- just kidding MAC I still love you).

Make Up For Ever says this eyeliner will last throughout the most extreme conditions. We will see about that, I am going to give this liner a run for it's money tonight. I will let you know how it goes.

Smashbox Artificial Light Luminizing Lotion

Description

This product was given to me by a friend and when I first got it I didn't really know what to do with it. Last week I finally got it right and started mixing 2 parts of this luminizing lotion with one part of my Smashbox liquid foundation. I love the glow it gives me, it extends the life of my foundation and it makes my makeup feel lighter, which is perfect in the hotter months. I highly recommend this product.
