Elvis 400% Bearbrick

Description
There's something about the Mickey Mouse-esque ears and Elvis that just works. Maybe it's the sideburns. I want him more than a velvet Elvis. At 11" tall he's king sized, too!

Musical Furnishings - drum tables
4 people recommended this item
Description
This is possibly one of the most brilliant ideas ever.
The idea is this: each module conceals one musical instrument. Cowbell, tambourine, snare, tom-tom, etc. By simply hitting the top of the table, you can actually play your furniture!!
Absolutely wonderful, and each table is hand-made to order. Available in 2x2, 2x4, 3x3, and 4x4. You get to pick your modules/instruments, and the modules can be easily rearranged without tools.
Genius!

SUCKADELIC MUSIC
First to recommend
Description
Where to begin!?!
The entire catalog of Suckadelic Music is cleverly repurposed sound-bytes and bits from favorites like Star Wars, GI Joe, He-Man, Lord of the Rings, and pretty much everything else that made your childhood awesome.
Throw it on as ass-shakin' music for your next party, or just slip it in to the CD player at work and walk away...it's really just a guaranteed good-time for all of us who were raised on Saturday Morning Cartoons.
All hail the Sucklord!!

Feast or Famine - Chuck Ragan
First to recommend
Description
Chuck Ragan is that rarest of things...a gifted songwriter, accomplished musician, and a truly wonderful human being.
It's hard for us not to be biased about Chuck...he's a good friend. But his music stands on it's own, and our love for Chuck the Guy is completely unnecessary to appreciate Chuck the Musician.
Feast or Famine is his first full-length after leaving Hot Water Music to spend more time with his wife and just sorta shift gears. He's put down the Les Paul and picked up a battered old acoustic and a tarnished harmonica and traded his amps for a stripped-down honesty that you don't find much of in modern music.
If you're a fan of country, acoustic, bluegrass, mountain music, or just sitting on your porch on a lazy afternoon and watching the world roll by in the company of friends, this album is for you.
Thanks, Chuck.

Good - Morphine

Description
The death of Morphine frontman Mark Sandman was the creation of a gap that will never be filled.
"Good" is Steve's favorite album from Morphine, and certainly one of their best. From the almost hidden tones of Mark's two-string slide bass playing to the sparing and excellent use of saxophone, this album is perfect for rainy days, dark nights, lazy afternoons, or stolen kisses.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch Soundtrack
2 people recommended this item
Description
John Cameron Mitchell spent years in the drag circuit to create and perfect the character of Hedwig...who is at once so bizarre you can't help but stare and yet going through such familiar feelings that you can't help but relate.
The truly wonderful thing about this album, though, isn't really the story or character of Hedwig...it's just the music. Within two songs, it becomes incredibly clear that every single note was written by someone who really, truly adores music. Everything from punk to showtunes to torch songs to old-time rock and roll makes an appearance and there isn't a dud on the list.
Even if you never see the movie (which you should), every music lover should own this.
Because it was written for us.

Derdang Derdang - Archie Bronson Outfit
First to recommend
Description
This is one of those albums that most people will never hear, or even know it exists.
And we're telling you right now...if any part of you loves the sounds that guitars make you REALLY need this album.
A three-piece, jangly, noisy, dirty rock and roll band of the slightly indie persuasion, the Archie Bronson Outfit gives you the kind of melancholy vocals that only indie rock can produce while rocking the living hell out of you in a way that standard arena-rock nonsense simply isn't smart enough to do. Unexpected changes, epic riffs, stellar and almost maddenly odd lyrics, and guitar tones that make you want to trash your hotel room.

Don't Tell a Soul - The Replacements
First to recommend
Description
You'll notice that most fans of The Replacements like to talk about "Let It Be" and "Pleased To Meet Me".
Fine albums, both of them...but for our money nothing beats "Don't Tell A Soul".
It's really hard to talk about this album in any way that actually holds up to the sonic goodness of the album itself...but it you love rock and roll, if you love great songwriting, and if you have any kind of soul...
Buy. This. Album.

The Black Keys - Attack and Release

Description
Burly rock and roll from Akron, Ohio.
Those things don't really sound like they should be in the same sentence, do they? Devo kinda gave people the idea that Akron is populated mostly with artsy weirdos and very impressive calculators.
Devo was awesome. But they are wrong.
The Black Keys: Not a punch in the face, so much as a beer bottle that *just* missed your head.

Love Actually
10 people recommended this item
Description
Quite possibly the best written and acted "chick flick" of all time!
"Love Actually" manages to navigate that treacherous terrain between holiday movies and romantic comedies without falling into the pitfalls of either genre or resting too heavily on any gimmicks other than an absolutely stellar cast.
Brilliant, from stem to stern.

Kids are people too. They're just smaller, and sometimes need helping wiping their butts. Plus, they can't drive worth a crap.
