Description
Jim Carrey's best performance ever - see him unlike other movies. A great film - creative.

Memento (2000)

Description
I love how the filmmakers force the viewer to encounter the same problems as the main character. He cannot remember what happened ten minutes ago and the audience has no idea what happened ten minutes ago (timeline-wise). Plus the audience is forced to remember what happened at the beginning of a scene in order to put it together with the end of the next scene they are about to watch.
It creates an effect of serious time confusion, which I guess is what Guy Pearce was dealing with.

It's a true story, kind of. Essentially this film explores Charlie Kaufman's head when h was commissioned to write a screenplay for "The Orchid Thief." Given, the guy is completely crazy to it's quite a wild ride.

Description
As the playwright Tom Stoppard once pointed out, the most perfect moment in this perfectly scripted movie is when Harrison Ford says "I didn't kill my wife" and Tommy Lee Jones replies "I don't care" - elegantly setting up the story's arc. Because of course, he WILL care by the end.

In the world of birds, starlings are interlopers. How perfect that the author named his heroine Patrice Starling as a woman coming up in the ranks of the FBI. Beautiful and scary.
