Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind

Description

When they reach the last memory, Tangerine says "This is it. This is when we met. What should we do?" and Joel replies: "Enjoy it." One of the most beautiful, poignant moments on film. This is my favorite movie of all time. Charlie Kaufman is a god.

Adaptation

Description

This is the most brilliant movie, so funny the way it makes fun of Hollywood agents, the writing process, Robert McKee, and the movie Identity. Wonderfully reflexive, inventive, profound. Charlie Kaufman takes scriptwriting to a literary high.

Description

As the playwright Tom Stoppard once pointed out, the most perfect moment in this perfectly scripted movie is when Harrison Ford says "I didn't kill my wife" and Tommy Lee Jones replies "I don't care" - elegantly setting up the story's arc. Because of course, he WILL care by the end.

The Sixth Sense (1999)

Description

Listen to me and listen to me good .. ghost/ dead people are scary. This is one of the coolest movies I have ever seen. If you haven't seen it yet, rent it. If anything to see that kid being all creepy and cute, or to see a young Mischa Barton, or for the famous twist.

Being John Malkovich

Description

Possibly revolutionary, trippy movie about a portal leading into John Malkovich's brain. Charlie Kaufman's screenplay is unbelievable.

The Silence of the Lambs (1991)

In the world of birds, starlings are interlopers. How perfect that the author named his heroine Patrice Starling as a woman coming up in the ranks of the FBI. Beautiful and scary.
