Lord Of The Rings: Shadows Of Angmar Special Edition for Windows XP/ Vista

Description

This is my current MMORPG addiction. I tried World of Warcraft, but it didn't hold me. However, LotRO is one of the best MMOs out there. You can play as a hobbit, human, elf or dwarf and live an adventurous life in Middle Earth. With several distinct classes (and a few more in their upcoming expansion pack) you can be sure to find a class that fits your particular play style.

for those of you who want to be Gandalf... sorry, there are only 3 wizards at the time: Gandalf the Grey, Saruman the White and Radagast the Brown.

Another great thing about it, is the addition of Monster Play. In their PvP (player vs. player) areas, you can be an orc, goblin, uruk-hai, warg or other nefarious characters that serve the Great Eye.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Nintendo Wii

Description

Using DMM (digital molecular matter) LucasArts has developed the true next gen game.

Star Wars, the force unleashed takes everything cool about the force and lightsaber combat and puts it into a game. The digital molecular matter allows things in the game to react as if they were made from real stuff. Wood shatters and splinters, metal bends and warps, glass fractures and stormtroopers fly across the room and their impact bends support beams.

They've also added Euphoria, which makes characters in the games react according to stimulus. A stormtrooper will grab onto another trooper, a box, or anything around them to prevent from being flung into the wall.

The lighsaber combat is supportive of full controls from the wiimote, and the nunchuck attachment controls movement and force powers. I cannot wait for this game to come out. Even on the graphics of the Wii, which are substantially lower than the xbox 360 or the PS3, it looks really good and really fun.

Oh, and it has dual-mode combat. Finally, I can swoosh lightsabers against my friends on the Wii... big time "Geek OMG"

On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One

Description

This game has been created by Gabe and Tycho of Penny Arcade and the super smart people at Hothead Games.

It's an episodic (think comic books) game with pulp meets horror meets sci-fi meets rpg.

It combines 2D and 3D elements seamlessly and is available for digital download for Mac, Linux and Windows (hopefully some portable consoles as well). The game is a hilarious and unique story line which places you in control of strange weapons in a highly stylized early 1900s universe.

Everything about it looks unique and fun, and you know the guys from Penny Arcade, famous for skewering bad games have put a lot of effort into it to not make the same stupid mistakes so many games have put in them.

I cannot wait to get this game. (via Play Greenhouse)

Dead Head Fred for PSP

First to recommend

Description

A hilarious game that stars a private eye who has his head removed by a vile gangster.

Not to let that stop him, he's revived by a mad scientist... or just an irritated scientist... well, a scientist who's fed up with the vile gangster and wants some revenge.

The private eye, "Fred" goes through his journey swapping heads that give him different powers and abilities. Darkly funny and rated M for foul language and bloody zombie violence, its not for kids.

Oh, and John C. McGinley from Scrubs is the voice of Dead Head Fred. While at times, the levels are frustrating and can really annoy you because of odd camera angles, its a must play.
