Do & Delegate
2 people recommended this item
Description
Every year, I tell myself I will delegate more....
Sigh.
from seejanework.com:
Until the science of cloning is perfected, our best bet for actually getting all the things on our To Do list done is to enlist a little help.
The Do & Delegate List from Buttoned Up is a compact spiral-bound notebook divided into two sections - a To Do list and a Delegation list.
* The To Do section includes lined pages, perforated on the edge so you can tear them out and take them with you.
* The Delegation section features tear-out notes you can hand-off to the sitter, your spouse, or your teenager-who'll do anything you ask if she can just borrow the car on Friday. A carbonless copy of your request stays in the book for follow-up.
The Do & Delegate Work notebook from Buttoned Up is spiral bound with tabbed sections to help you plan both long term and short term projects.
* The To Do List section features specially formatted pages for writing down what you need to do, who you need to call, and when you need to meet.
* The Goals and Projects section starts with a year at a glance page and includes pages for breaking projects into tasks and steps.
* The Delegation section is filled with perforated pages that you can use to assign jobs to colleagues and subordinates. A carbonless copy stays in the notebook so you'll have a record of who's working on what.
Do & Delegate notebooks are sold separately.

Password.Log

Description
from seejanework.com:
Writing your password down and sticking it to your computer monitor sort of defeats the purpose of a password.
Keep usernames, passwords, account numbers, and more in a place where you can find them (but the temp who uses your desk after hours can't), with the Password.log from Buttoned Up.
Sized to fit in your handbag or desk drawer (one that locks) the Password.log has plenty of space for all your personal and professional log-in info.
50 pages.

Maybe your New Year's resolution is to finally organize your family photos...
Perhaps you want to find a hostess gift that is useful for once....
Do your kids have a digital camera? Would you like to encourage creativity?
Are you tired of the time and money you spend printing and sending out holiday photos or post-party pictures to attendees?
Did you forget to buy a present and need something ASAP?
flickr.
Whether you utilize the ample storage of a free account or purchase a $25 Pro Upgrade as a present for yourself or someone you know, this is one of the best sites online for organizing, sharing, printing and customizing gifts that utilize your digital images.
So instead of printing and mailing all of the Christmas Eve pictures to Aunt Edna, email her your online gallery address and let her pick the sizes she wants.
And be sure to check out the online groups on flickr. You can explore the world and your personal interests from your own desk.
Consider buying a Pro Account for your teenager or husband and using the print-out as a fabulous stocking stuffer. Or wrapping it in a lovely ribbon and presenting it to the hostess of a holiday party you attended. She'll be thrilled to have such an easy way to share the pictures from that night- and other attendees can upload their for her as well.
It's a great thing, flickr. Really great. (via Click Here to Buy Flickr Pro as a Gift)

Mirrored Advent Calendar (Re-Use it a Hundred Ways!)
First to recommend
Description
~Other uses? Trivia Game, Truth or Dare, Lifehacks and NY '09 Resolutions, Chore Chart, Jewelry Organizer..... so much more...~
It's like XMas at Studio 54! "Pass the 'nog, Andy! Powdered sugar for my holiday cookies? No, Bianca, I think I'll pass....."
I'll be honest. When it comes to advent calendars... well.... I'm a whore. Yes. I'm an advent calendar whore.
I can't help it! It's not so much about the countdown for me as it is about all the little nooks and crannies and boxes and pouches containing treasures. I don't care if they're cheap, tacky, ridiculous treasures. The anticipation is delicious.
"Yay, it's a new day! I wonder what piece of crap I get today?" I have been heard to trill as I leap and bound (well, roll and waddle) down the stairs every morning. (The fact that I am the only adult in the house and the one who restocked last season's calendar, and thus am in possession of the Crap 411 ie "What's Inside the Boxes," is something I choose to ignore. That's why I check early in the morning, before caffeine.)
I love this one in particular because it has so many non-advent calendar usages. From creative party food display (fill the boxes with truffles or hors d'oeuvres, leaving some doors open so that people can see what's inside, and set it on the buffet), to a jewelry box (if you're very organized you can print up a list of what numbers correspond to which pieces and attach it to the back) or come up with a game (trivia or Memory perhaps?) to play at an event.
Fun fashion pictures from the 80's (neon, jelly shoes, Aqua Net) that you print in pairs can go behind doors for a Memory-type game. Or type up baby questions or naughty sex truth-or-dare questions for a baby or bridal shower. How about putting a New Year's resolution or lifehack idea into each compartment and opening one a week in 2009? Or favorite quotes/relationship advice for an amazing wedding present?
Whatever. It's all good. Or so says the whore.

I've been on a mission to make writing daily in their journals a lifelong habit for my kids. One of my only regrets in life is that I didn't start doing that for myself earlier. Now, it is a discipline that I have to practice rather than something that is easy and natural. So I love this book for its inspiring suggestions....
from the site:
This gorgeous new journal from popular paper-cut artist Nikki McClure is the perfect place to record all the projects to build, plans to make, recipes to cook, things to wish for, books to read, places to travel, presents to give, and experiences to discover, to name just a few.
Based loosely on her Things to Make and Do 2008 Calendar, the journal's simple text and starkly beautiful images offer readers inspiration to write down their aspirations and dream projects, and to take the steps necessary to achieve them.
Imported. Wipe clean.

Regift the Fruitcake | Facebook
First to recommend
Description
$5. That's all it takes to regift a virtual fruitcake and contribute to one of 6 extraordinary charities on Facebook. Just pick your celebrity and pass their fruitcake... you'll be taken to Paypal to donate your 5 bucks and then back to Facebook where you can follow fruitcakes all over the map. Print up your receipt and give a stocking stuffer that reminds people what the season is REALLY about.
The Re-gift the Fruitcake PayPal application built on Facebook Platform will benefit six worthy charities:
- The Tony Hawk Foundation supports recreational programs with a focus on the creation of public skateboard parks in low-income communities.
- The Jimmie Johnson Foundation is dedicated to assisting children, families and communities in need throughout the United States.
- The Yao Ming Foundation at the Giving Back Fund rebuilds schools in China that were destroyed by the earthquake in May of 2008.
- The Richie-Madden Children"s Foundation brings meaningful opportunities to children in the U.S. and abroad, while striving to bring light and laughter into their lives through unique entertainment and special events.
- The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation at the Giving Back Fund disperses grants to police and fire departments' canine units throughout the country, supporting the brave men, women, and even dogs who protect our cities and homes.
- Fall Out Boy supports Invisible Children, a non-profit organization that improves the quality of life for war-affected children.
from PR Review:
The holiday gift that everyone loves to hate may be just the thing to "re-gift" on Facebook this holiday season, providing support for those in need. Two-pound fruitcake bricks will be given away through a PayPal application built on Facebook Platform by Tony Hawk, Jimmie Johnson, Yao Ming, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, Ben Roethlisberger, and Fall Out Boy " to benefit their favorite charities. Recipients will be invited via a personal video to contribute through PayPal to the charities and "re-gift" the fruitcake to friends and family all across the world.
Celebrities will kick off the fruitcake"s virtual voyage starting with 10 friends each. As the fruitcakes make their way across Facebook, recipients can choose to donate to the celebrity"s cause or continue the fruitcake"s journey simply by re-gifting to friends for free. The Re-gift the Fruitcake program is presented by PayPal, which will make a $20,000 donation to each celebrity charity.
"The fruitcake has always been a bad gift. You never eat it or keep it. You just always end up re-gifting it," said Tony Hawk, skateboarding legend. "This year we're changing the fruitcake and making it a symbol of giving and charity."
"The fruitcake has been a great addition to our team and we"re thrilled it will be working to raise money for the Jimmie Johnson Foundation," said three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson.
"We're trying out different kinds of technology and approaches to get people involved and learn about causes," said Joel Madden, lead singer of the band Good Charlotte. "This time, it's a fruitcake."
"By re-gifting this fruitcake you will help build more than 8,000 Classrooms and give children the education they deserve," said Houston Rockets" Center Yao Ming.
"Re-gift the fruitcake," said Ben Roethlisberger, quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. "Send it to whoever you want to. Your friends, family, anyone."

Tire Pressure Valve Caps - Set of 4
First to recommend
Description
Ok. One of my new favorite things EVER. Now that temps are silly stupid cold and the roads are often coated with ice and snow, tire pressure has become a pretty big deal to me. Yes, I know I need a life. I believe I've covered that in other recs.
Anyway, the other day as I was at the local station's air machine freezing my fingers off because I'd forgotten my gloves, I realized I'd forgotten to buy a new tire gauge for use in my warm garage. Then I went home and promptly forgot. Again.
Today a friend asked me to do a quick online search while he was at the mall for one and I came across THESE BEAUTIES! Who needs a gauge? Just cast a glance at your wheels and you'll see either a red or green ring depending upon whether or not your tires are at the correct pressure. Lovely stuff!
Available in different psi's. A few different stores have them for the difference of a few bucks. And since proper tire pressure really does save you money at the pump, this is a great resolution to put on the New Year's list!
