About this list:
excellent blues harmonica for simple riffs to accompany guitar blues etc and to play along to Dylan if you like him (a lot of his stuff is in the key of C, so you'd want to buy a "c" and the key of c, i find, is the easiest in which to play or learn at first.

harmonica / hohner w/case (Powered by CubeCart)

Description
i play the harmonica every day and generally find that Hohner is the best and accepted as such. Mostly i play in the key of C, but that said i have many harmonicas and one that is in all keys. i got into the harmonica because of my love of Dylan - and i find that after playing violin for years, which is much harder, the harmonica is just a lot of fun and very versatile. you should try it.... just mess around.... you'lll pick it up. Hohner 560 20 Special 20 Marine Band Harmonica
First to recommend
Description
the marine band has a different tone from the blues harmonica, so for a different effect that has more of an "echo" this is worth a try if you get really into it. i recommend the blues first, but the marine band here has a lot to recommend and again, you can't go wrong with Hohner and again, this is in the key of C. slide harp, version of silvershadow

Description
you can use this in any key - i have this in the Silvershadow, which i don't even think they make anymore, and the key on the side switches between major and minor key.... hard to get used to at first, but good if you're really into it and want a good all around harmonica (via harp depot)

Hohner, Inc. - Chromatic Harmonica
First to recommend
Description
I play the harmonica (really) and the guitar, but I love love love the harmonica because you can pick it up pretty easily and it's fun to play along to Dylan or just dance around the apartment in your underwear playing the Creole blues... hey, really tho... the chromatic which i own, is great because you can play in any key at all with the flip of one switch at the end of the piece as you are playing, so you can play all keys with this one harmonica... pretty nifty.
