Sawbuck Chair, by Hans Wegner

First to recommend

Description

Designed in 1951 by Hans Wegner, the Sawbuck Chair has been resurrected by Room & Board. The oak and walnut materials make for subtle contrast and depth, but the real draw is this chair's minimalist, interlocking form, which effortlessly draws attention to its hand-crafted feel. (via BLTD)

Kontur Vase

First to recommend

Description

Normann's Kontur Vase takes a simple, sculptural form as the backdrop for flower presentation. At only 2.5" high, the silicone rubber vase is designed to show of what's inside, although the piece will look pretty decent on a surface by itself. Or try it as a penholder on your desk.

Description

Part of you knows that no matter how cool an oil & vinager set looks, you're still going to muck it up when pouring. Of course, this set from Menu looks fantastic on the table between meals.

Cork underlay ladder

Description

The Trivet is an underappreciated piece of kitchenware. Great for safely resting hot pots on the dining table, trivets are often more difficult to fit into a tight space than they are worth. This smart cork version addresses the issue with grace. (via Treehugger)

[Eva Solo] garlic press

4 people recommended this item

Description

Where to start with this amazing piece. Stainless steel cuts the garlic smell and a slit design, replacing traditional garlic press holes, makes for easy cleaning. The accompanying vessel is great for storing stray cloves, and the two pieces together resemble a head of garlic.

ch07 lounge

First to recommend

Description

A long-underappreciated design from Hans Vegner, this ch07 lounge was first produced in 1963 and would far later come to be recognized as one of the first mass-produced shell chairs. Looks a bit better than it feels, but it looks fantastic.
