While there are always potlucks year round, I find a significant increase in parties and potlucks in the summer. This covered casserole dish let's you bring your signature hot or cold. I haven't found one signature dish yet, so it might be baked beans I bring or a salad or something new that I want to try.

Sleeveless Sateen Dress

I can't pull off this dress. I wish I could. I wish I could more than most thing because I love this dress. But this dress looks best on someone who has a straighter body shape (otherwise you corrupt the line of the dress). Sigh. It's classic, it's clean, it's perfect for a barbeque.

Sushi Tealights

One of my favorite things about setting a table is to be able to find a place setting that doesn't obscure conversation. This short set of tealights (kind of like a sushi plate) adds a little glow to a table (everyone looks better in candlelight) without interrupting the flow of conversation.

To round out the table set, I'm thinking these coasters and a woven placement (in a tan wood) would be perfect. Placemats in this pattern (when there is already a runner and napkin) would be a bit much. But these little coasters add that one other bit of mustard and fun. With white dishes it would be a hit!

This napkin matches the runner that I recommended just a bit ago. And while though some people say that you shouldn't over match, I personally think that matching runners and napkins is perfectly acceptable when it's such a pretty and neutral print.

To complete the place setting on my outdoor table I like to have wine glasses in addition to the standing glasses. Now, they are a little big, but summer parties are about taking things slowly and what better way to unwind with friends than with a big glass of wine. I like that these will match the fiesta plates that grace my table and that they striped glasses are just cute!

I like the openness of flip flops for summer, but I don't like how casual they can be. These turquoise sandals are everything I could want for summer. They are in a bright and summer color, they are relatively flat so you can walk about in them in grass and on sand. Plus with that little accent of gold on the tassel, they have a little something extra to make them interesting.
