Do you walk to school or ride your bike ? The Enertia makes the latter more tempting than ever before. It's a lean, green, person-moving machine arriving just in time for freshman orientation.

adidas: Women's Boston Marathon Official Race Jacket - 113th Boston Marathon - Boston Athletic Association
First to recommend
Description
The NYC Marathon gets most of the hype, but the Boston Marathon requires you to have run another marathon with a decent finishing time (depending upon your age) in order to even qualify for the race. So, while I will be on the sidelines again this year, I will be cheering for those supreme beings who will be in the running on April 20, 2009. Boston or bust, baby.

The PEDIGREE Foundation: Dogs Rule Gear - Dog Collar - Proud to be adopted

Description
Such an incredible variety of canine beauty is displayed every year at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. And the 133rd Show's final round of seven was as broad a spectrum as I have yet to see, including a Brussels Griffon, Giant Schnauzer, Puli, Standard Poodle, Scottish Deerhound, Scottish Terrier and, the winner: Stump, a Sussex Spaniel. Stay tuned to see which breed (or combination thereof) the Obamas will now choose to rule their house . . .

Barnes and Noble: Two Planks and a Passion - The Dramatic History of Skiing by Roland Huntford
First to recommend
Description
It is comforting to know that skiing did not suddenly take off, unimpeded, to the art form it is today. I am not a natural, by any means. But, apparently, putting skis on our feet didn't come easily, but evolved over time, as this 440-page history explains in great detail. From its earliest known beginnings to polar exploration to military skiing, Huntford delves deep into the sport: its equipment, people, places and purposes.

Barnes and Noble: ATHLETE by Walter Iooss with an introduction by Michael Jordan
First to recommend
Description
Tiger Woods. Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier. Michael Jordan. Laird Hamilton. These are just a few of the extraordinary humans Walter Iooss has captured on film over the course of his 47-year career. 150 of those images appear in this volume, both a tribute and an inspiration to amateur and professional athletes and those who strive to photograph them in action. Good gifting.
