Amazon: Lacrosse - The Original Extreme Sport 2009 Wall Calendar

First to recommend

Description

It wasn't football. It wasn't basketball. It wasn't even soccer. In my hometown, lacrosse was THE sport to watch (if you couldn't play.) By the time I reached my senior year, the women had established an intramural team and the men's team had nabbed the state championship. So, while I wait for the professional lacrosse league to become more well televised, I will enjoy the powerful images captured herein.

EXIMIOUS: Fresh Range Golf Balls

First to recommend

2 people recommended this item

Description

Irretrievable balls are inevitable part of nearly any golfer's game. Give him a fresh supply with the "Golfer's Breakfast": a six-pack of balls bearing the logo of St. Andrew's of Scotland. Stock up if you have a big flock of golfers on your list this year. Good gifting.

Explorers' Corner: Alaska Kayaking in Glacier Bay

First to recommend

Description

Although kayaking amongst glaciers and humpback whales may not be something you can wrap up and tie with a bow, it is definitely a treasure: one of jaw-dropping beauty and awe-inspiring majesty that will be long anticipated, enjoyed and remembered. Good (group) gifting.

The ING New York City Marathon: November 2, 2008

First to recommend

Description

Covering all five boroughs of the City of New York, the NYC Marathon has plenty of challenging hills but an incredible outpouring of support from residents of the neighborhoods all along the course. If you cheer, participate or volunteer, you can catch the action on NBC at approximately 3:00 p.m. on race day. I wish all runners good luck, good weather and a great finish ! (via Magnum Photos)

The Sports Museum of America

First to recommend

Description

Covering 19 different sports, including 50 separate sports halls of fame (one with an up close and personal look at the Heisman Trophy), interactive exhibits and profiles of both male and female athletes who have been leaders and record breakers in their fields, this museum could be the only stop you will have time to make on a trip to Manhattan. And perhaps you will want to plan an entire trip around it or host your next special event on site. Finally, if you have not yet found a sport that interests you, this is THE place to go for inspiration.
