PB Teen: X Games X Wall Mural
First to recommend
Description
If BMX (bicycle motocross) is a reliable indicator, then another summer X game sport just may take the empty hole in the Olympics roster left by the departure of softball and baseball after Beijing. I would love to see skateboarding in London in 2012 but that's up the the IOC. In the meantime, don't forget to catch some of the X-game action throughout this weekend (July 31 - August 3, 2008).

What I Talk About When I Talk About Running by Haruki Murakami with Philip Gabriel

Description
If you have ever wondered what drives a person to voluntarily endure a 26.2-mile trek up hills, in pouring rain or scorching heat, this book will give you some insight along with a few laughs. Once the XXIX Olympiad marathon begins, I will be rooting for 35-year-old American Deena Kastor. She has struggled with numerous setbacks on the road to this, her third Olympic Games. Run on, Deena !

The Code: Baseball's Unwritten Rules and It's Ignore-at-Your-Own-Risk Code of Conduct by Ross Bernstein
First to recommend
Description
If you, like me, wonder exactly what leads to baseball brawls, this book will help you understand the game behind the game of baseball. Prime example: although no blood was shed at the Red Sox game against the Yankees last night, Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain definitely got under the skin of Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett. The two were never on the field at the same time, but certain unwritten rules were at play. This book explains many of them and, in so doing, makes watching baseball all the more intriguing.
