Spring 2008 Trend: Tie Dyed Fashions - a list by LaurenMessiah

About this list:

Whenever I think of tie-dyed garments the first thing that comes to mind is 'summer camp' -- not going to summer camp (I was far too cool for that) but actually teaching summer camp. Working with dozens of children assisting them in creating a garment that was destined to be a disaster. Deep down I think the kids knew that their tie-dyed creations were a disaster too because they were seldom worn outside of campgrounds. That was then, this is now.

DvF actually made tie-dye look good. In fact she made it look better than good. I am in love with this dress. I can picture myself drinking some cocktail that is fruity, colorful, and fattening while wearing this dress.

Love Yaya Pure Journey Crop Top

Description

I haven't heard the words "crop top" since the late 80's, scary! I suppose since the 80's are making a comeback in 2008 this top is fitting. In or out, I still can't picture myself wearing this without looking like some beach bum tourist but you better believe I will think of way to make it cool in time.

Lacey Parker Rainbow Silk Swing Dress

First to recommend

Description

This dress isn't exactly tie-dyed, it's more of a drip dyed look which is quite lovely if you want to wear the tie-dyed trend without being a total 60's throwback. This spring dress would look like perfect with flat gold sandals and a cream colored cardigan ... a wide yellow headband would really top off the look.

I was this close to buying this top tonight but I was forced to put something back since I had a major pile in my hand already. This top looked great with the black leggings I had on and would look even better with a wide fabric belt. This is a great look for day or night and the price is right.

LaROK Tie Dye Butterfly Tunic

First to recommend

Description

When I first looked at this top and read it was called tie-dye butterfly I immediately disagreed and thought tie-dye ink blot ... but whatever the top is still cute. I love LaRok it's one of my favorite contemporary lines. This top is excellent for "fat" days, as it has a very slimming cut and flows freely over the stomach area. It's a nice deal too at $158.
