Trouble: Travel Edition

Description

Cool case. The review says that the popper is difficult but we didn't actually have "trouble" with ours. Great for planes, trains and automobiles....

Yes I do own these. No I don't want to talk about why. Yes I have used them. No I don't want to say how.

I will, however, say that they come in handy at the most unusual times and also make a great topper for a present.

Let's not discuss this again please. I'm a little embarassed.

Time Bandits (Special Edition)

First to recommend

Description

One of the joys of being a mother to pre-teens is the ability to force them to watch whatever I put on. After all, they can't drive off anywhere. They can't afford to buy their own stuff. They just have to deal with it. Luckily, for the most part, they even like it.

Last year I started prepping for my inevitable mid-life crisis in a few years by going all DVD retro on them. I got into one of my moods.... and spent a few late nights trolling my memory and Amazon for movies I used to love but had forgotten. All with the intention of buying them and forcing my offspring to embrace them as well, thus ensuring my legacy would be continued in future generations.

In this case, that legacy includes a love for midgets who time travel. I loved this movie back then, I love it now.

**with Terry Gilliam, Katherine Helmond, Madeleine Stowe, Shelley Duvall, Brad Pitt........
**features a DVD-Rom version of the original screenplay and pull-out map.

I've had this for a year or two and received a lot of compliments on it. In "person," it's actually quite delicate and small, not a full-sized penny.

It's a sweet little bit o' bling.

Goldfish and Cheerio Necklaces

First to recommend

Description

There are few things that remind me of my kids' Babyhood as much as Cheerios and Goldfish crackers. Rarely did I leave the house without packing these as artillery. So these necklaces tug at my heartstrings and are, in my opinion, a fantastic gift for any mom.

A few details from the web site:

Cheerio Necklace
Ahhh...breakfast cereal. Good to eat, better to wear! Your friends wear real Cheerios strung on yarn by their little ones... But you can wear yours in solid sterling silver! Cast from an actual Cheerio, this solid sterling silver charm speaks to moms as a symbol of motherhood. Beautiful hung on a dainty 1.5mm sterling ball chain. Charm: approx. 1/2" in diameter Necklace: approx. 18" chain

Goldfish Cracker Necklace
There are just some things in life that bring back a rush of great childhood memories. Like opening your lunch bag to find a note scribbled on your napkin by your mom and a baggie full of cheesy fish crackers! Ah... the simpler times. It's solid sterling silver and arrives on an 18" sterling silver chain.

There are certain prank gifts that are fun to look at for a minute and then get tossed in a drawer. This gets used. Trust me. This really gets used.

Also great for parties... I like to set up "playtables" all over. You'd be a bit surprised at just how into it people get after a few martinis. No wives have been lost to bad bets yet, but I forsee that happening one of these days....

Nintendo Power Mints

5 people recommended this item

Description

What can I say? I'm a product of the 80's...

.... and I'm also becoming more and more like the grandma who washes out Ziploc bags and reuses them. Everything has a dual purpose. In this case, I bought a handful of these and was intent on simply refilling them with my trusty Altoids and tucking them into holiday stockings. Of the mantel variety, not garter.

However, one afternoon I had a Martha-Stewart-in-Prison moment. I needed to wrap a gift (luckily, just a pair of earrings) and had NO wrapping paper within access range. So I had to make do. Enter the empty Nintendo mint tin.

I got kudos for creativity from the recipient and just to ease your mind, no "shanks" were involved in the wrapping of this gift. Ha.
