Description

This is hilarious! My humor to a capital 'T'! I can see it hanging on the front of my fridge as we speak! I hope the artist made more than one.

Yellow Zombie Monkey by amyjoshandmade

First to recommend

Description

I think this is a pretty cool little zombie toy. And this time of year there are a lot of them out there. This one is not only special because it's handmade, but because it's well-made and creative. Apparently, this guy comes in differently colors, too. I have no idea why the yellow appealed to me. Perhaps because it made him look more jaundiced? (via etsy.com)

Tab B -A planter + ashtray!

3 people recommended this item

Description

I must applaud the designer of this item. The combination of a planter and an ashtray adds decor, fresh air, and takes away unsightly ashtrays in one stroke.

Depending on what you put into the planter, you also add some aroma to your space. Thus, subtracting the stench of the ashtray.

Personally, if I were using it, I'd wash it after each use. Otherwise, I would worry about the effects of the ash/nicotine residue on the plant.

BioLogic IV Plant Pots - I.V. 27 by Vitamin

First to recommend

Description

These are not only cool from a design vantage point, but from a gardener's stand point. With different types of plants, the need for H2O varies. For some you need to let the soil dry out, and still others require a more tropical constantly moist soil. I'd like to try and see if letting the plant sip at it's own rate is theoretically sound. Rather than trying to gauge the soil needs based on my own observations. Which may be a little off.

Included with the lightweight fiberglass plant pot is a height adjustable metal rod, a refillable I.V. bag and a flow regulator that allows you to set watering rates to suit your plant. The drip feed provides a striking design focus as well as acting as a reminder to its owner as to when it needs topping up. (via store.vitaminliving.com)

Hoodies Bones Salt and Pepper Set by Vitamin

First to recommend

3 people recommended this item

Description

I don't normally go for cutesy salt and pepper shakers, but these are pretty cool. Plus, they sort of nix the cuteness ratio with the fact that they have skull faces.

Shiny, black and ceramic, their eyes are pour holes and their slumping bodies form the receptacles for your coarsely ground pepper and salt. They have far more character and attitude than gnomes or ducks. I could see these gracing my dining room table or brooding over the rim of my stove. (via store.vitaminliving.com)

Reclaimed Barn Wood Lamp with cool shade

2 people recommended this item

Description

The distressed materials in this lamp, give it a wholly original look. The rusty reclaimed barn metal is decayed just to the point to give it an enormous amount of character. The shade reminds me of a dirty and rusted window screen. I may have a strange sense of aesthetics to some, but I just think this lamp is damned cool.

You could almost build part of a room around this lamp.

Rubbermaid Cedar Storage Totes

4 people recommended this item

Description

I've long been a fan of Rubbermaid products because of their quality and durability, but this is serious product development.

These storage totes have cedar embedded/molded into the plastic to repel insects and keep your fabrics fresh! To not have to worry about finding moth holes and/or spiders. That is genius.

Dismember-Me Plush Zombie

First to recommend

6 people recommended this item

Description

Just in time for Halloween. Or just in time period, if you're me. The Dismember-Me Plush Zombie from ThinkGeek. He even has a plush brain snack that fits in his hand! Don't let your cat get its paws on this one, or you will find various parts of your new plush everywhere well after All Hallow's. Or kitty might end up choking on one of the tiny pieces. I'm not trying to be morbid, just factual. That goes for tiny tots as well. For obvious and for safety reasons, this is not a child's toy.

If you LOVE zombies... I certainly do. Then this is a party plush not to be missed. Wouldn't you just love to curl up on a midnight dreary with this guy? (via thinkgeek.com)

Bormioli Rocco Think Natural Beverage Set

First to recommend

Description

I use the carafe everyday to brew iced herbal tea. I received the set (at my own recommendation) as a birthday gift from a close friend. Durable and beautiful, the glass features a pale aqua tint and gently pebbled surfaces. It is made from 30% recycled glass and came packaged in recycled materials. (Which I promptly recycled). This Italian made set is also dishwasher-safe, although I use it so often I usually just wash it by hand. (via macys.com)

Draper's Cabinet- vintage inspired wood storage

2 people recommended this item

Description

This is a remarkable piece of furniture. Most of us need better storage space. Even better if you can do some of that in plain sight.

This cabinet is very versatile in terms of its storage applications. You could use it to store one type of item, such as your books. Or you could use it to store a variety of items at once. You could store and decorate at the same time. It would look great in a living room, dining room or bedroom.

I want one...
