Skull and Cross-utensils dinner plate by foldedpigs

Description

I absolutely love this design! If you have looked at any of my other lists, that may not come as a complete surprise. The designer is very talented and if you have a slight bent towards the macabre (like me). You will love her work. (via etsy.com)

Cedar and leather jewelry box, 'Heritage'

First to recommend

Description

This handcrafted leather and cedar jewelry box is just the sort of thing I have in mind when I think of my ideal jewelry box. A piece that is expertly crafted with many drawers. Intricately detailed. A hinged top that opens to reveal a small mirror. (via novica.com)

Sandstone sculpture, 'Divine Parvati'

First to recommend

Description

This is a lovely sandstone sculpture of Parvati, consort of Lord Shiva and mother of Ganesha. Seated on a lotus throne and holding a fragrant blossom, Parvati is graceful and beautiful.

This sculpture is from Indian sculptor Brijesh Kumar of Delhi. He follows in his father's footsteps as a sculptor/stone carver. His work is featured on Novica.com. (via novica.com)

Sandstone statuette, 'Ganesha and the Cycles of Life'

First to recommend

Description

I am fascinated by religious iconography. Especially those from Hinduism and Catholicism.

The elephant-headed Ganesh is my favorite Hindu deity, being the God of Wisdom and "remover of obstacles". Said also to be the "keeper of the records of knowledge," Ganesha exudes a calming aura as he affects positively the space he occupies. He reclines for a comfortable rest, holding in one hand a mystical chain symbolic of life's cycles. Wayan Kandiyasa sculpts his divine image from sandstone with masterful care for detail. Man Hook by Hans Edblad for Edblad &Co.

First to recommend

Description

If you can imagine things in your home, then maybe they were just made for you. I think that is all too often my philosophy when it comes to picking out my home decor. Sculptural, unique hooks in four models and a supplementary sculpture in the same design to put on a table beside or on the floor below the hook. Mount only one hook on the wall, or especially shrewd - all hooks in a vertical row! Made of aluminum covered in black leather. (via http://www.scandinaviandesigncenter.com)

Description

Menu's popular thermo cups with a new look, “Forest by Vea”. A limited edition with inspiration from the Scandinavian forests with a stylized pattern of trees and branches.

The Thermo Cups keep temperatures steady and are well-suited to all kinds of refreshing ice-cold or invigorating hot drinks. The insulating gap also means that the cups never get too hot to hold. (via http://www.scandinaviandesigncenter.com)

Resto Bottle Opener by Olof Söderholm for Simplicitas

First to recommend

Description

Resto, the Latin word for "stay put", will help you both to open up your bottle but also to master the bubbles in your carbonated beverage. So if your thirst is satisfied and the bottle isn’t empty, just add the cap to the bottle, snap it with your thumb and reseal it with your Resto. (via http://www.scandinaviandesigncenter.com)

Marimekko tray table by Marimekko

First to recommend

Description

Most tray tables look exactly the same. This one stands apart from all others. Although it isn't made from anything special, just laminated plywood. Marimekko has turned a very mundane concept into an exceptionally designed piece. It folds up and would look good indoors or out. It's one cool tray table. Grier Mirrors

First to recommend

Description

I love the industrial shaping of these mirrors and the deep color of the wood's finish. The three graduated mirrors set a wall in motion. Sustainable solid mango wood is hand-carved into interconnecting gear shapes and finished a dark mahogany. (via crateandbarrel.com)
