Caldera Bowl

First to recommend

Description

Lovely, jewel-toned, black and blood red bowl... A spiral of black glass swirls on fiery red in an eruption of molten-hot color. Artisan-crafted in the technique and tradition of Murano glass, with a special blend of minerals creating the translucent, intense color, each bowl is hand-pressed into a mold to impart the exterior texture. The iridescent finish is added last, high-fired, and the bowl is "pinched" to give it a unique, flowing shape. (via crateandbarrel.com)

Sprout-Free Vegetable Bags

First to recommend

Description

I actually stopped buying very many potatoes and/or onions because of the sprouting issue. This is especially a problem with organic produce. An even bigger problem if you buy these types of things in bulk. These 10-pound canvas bags feature special "blackout" lining which absorbs moisture and obstructs light-keeping potatoes and onions fresh. Simply remove vegetables from zippered side opening to automatically rotate stock. (via mileskimball.com)

Liu Tray by iBride

First to recommend

Description

A beautiful tray in form and design. There is no way I would put a thing on it, as suggested on the web page. To me it's art...wall decor. I can picture three of them in a row. Perhaps not, they're big..."16 X 16". I wonder if Warhol had anything to do with that idea.

"Ibride, pronounced "e-breed," is created by a French family in the south of France. The archival imagery is inspired by their travels as well as their local environment. The word 'ibride' itself is a play on words meaning 'hybrid', and the pieces combine a dual purpose of serving as sturdy and functional trays, but more often they are used as decorative art to accent home decor.

Through magical imagery and intricate lattice work, iBride simultaneously creates a modern and yet nostalgic feeling. Each tray is constructed using a turn-of-the-century process. The construction process uses a high-pressure laminate with a pre-recycled wood core. The result is a functional tray that is more often used as an elegant wall hanging. Trays using these materials can be found in restaurants and cafes throughout Europe." (via burkedecor.com)

Diva Ostrich Console by iBride

First to recommend

Description

Definitely one of the most unusual tables that I have ever come across. It comes in red or black. I'd say "red-ish". Anyway, it's also not only is this ostrich design rather original, but the rest of them are as well. The lower halves of bears and dogs. The materials, as mentioned later, are described are partially "pre-recycled". I'd like to think that's a positive thing, but it sounds like double-speak to me.

Aspen Pet Products - BOODA Bones

First to recommend

Description

If your dog is a serious chewer, and you want something that will last a few days, don't buy a Booda Bone. If he or she is a serious chewer and needs a "highly digestible" chew (unlike rawhide) that will keep them busy for an hour or so. Then the Booda Bone may not be a bad purchase. They are wheat gluten free, if that's a concern, and come in a variety of flavors. Also, a low fat treat, overall this seems to be a relatively healthy treat. The product boasts a design that helps plaque and tartar control. My dog loved the peanut butter one I got him and just devoured it. No harm done. Although, I was definitely looking for was something that would last a lot longer. (via aspenpet.com)

Brown Felt Pads for under furniture!

First to recommend

2 people recommended this item

Description

Another super trick from the memory bank at Evangelista...

These felt pads should be used under anything sitting on your floors! When you get a new dining room table and chairs, buy enough of these to do every single chair and table leg. You will thank yourself later.
You can pop a few on the back of any painted wood chairs too, that rub against your wall's paint job.

Also, anyone considering refinishing their floors should be purchasing these in bulk!!! The dark brown color is perfect for dark wood floors, so that you don't see the traditional off white color. (blech)

These are equally important on table tops and countertops... If you're installing new countertops, these belong under any unfinished pottery and anything that might leave nasty scratches on your new countertops!!!

An ounce of prevention on these things goes a REALLY long way... Trust me. The shock on a client's face when the staging company didn't bother with these under a giant bowl on their brand new Carrera Marble countertops and left huge, thick gouges on the surface is something I hope not to see any time soon... :( (shudder)

Rinse and Chop Board

Description

This design makes good common sense. That's why it appeals to me. Chop and then rinse, or rinse and then chop. I like it. A good space-saving idea as well.

Sal Suds Liquid Cleaner - 32 oz.

First to recommend

Description

I use this as an alternative for cleaning when I don't want to use harsher products. For instance, when washing out my tarantula's terrarium. Sal Suds is a balanced formulation of naturally derived surfactants with pure fir and spruce essential oils: it cleans and rinses with exceptional power yet is mild and gentle on the skin. Sal Suds is not soap-based and is formulated especially for all-purpose hard-surface cleaning. Available in 32 oz. bottle. Perfect for general household cleaning: dishes floors laundry etc. Equally effective in hard or soft water rinsing freely hot or cold. Concentrated and self-preserving: no hidden preservatives or ingredients. No synthetic dyes or fragrances: all ingredients fully disclosed and described. Biodegrades rapidly after doing its job. Pure high-quality fir and spruce essential oils: no cheap harsh pine stump oil. (via drbronner.com)
