fingertongs Silicone Cooking Tongs
3 people recommended this item
Description
Fingertongs just make sense. I am slowly adopting more silicone cooking accessories into my kitchen. Silicone absorbs little heat, does not absorb odor, cleans up easily and is dishwasher-safe. I'm impressed.

Pie Crust Protector
4 people recommended this item
Description
An excellent idea! When you don't want your pie crust edges to burn before your pie gets done, you usually have to waste some irregularly placed aluminum foil. This doesn't always work well. This on the other hand makes a lot of sense and will conserve aluminum. Silicone is very durable. So, these will last for years.

Lekue Silicone Steamer
2 people recommended this item
Description
This steamer is amazing! It's far more sanitary than its bamboo contemporary and it cooks an entire meal (at lease 2/3 of) in a flash. I put fish or shrimp on the bottom and vegetables on the top. In less than 15 minutes, everything is steamed to perfection. You have to keep an eye on it though. This puppy forms a seal once you've started water boiling and sat the steamer on top, and cooks fast! The top steamer you can remove without potholders, the bottom is better with.
Once you've finished cooking, clean-up is easy. You can either wash by hand or rinse off and throw it into the dishwasher. I have been more than impressed by this steamer and make regular use of it. If you're keen on eating healthier, and like the idea of being able to make meals quickly then this is a great buy.

Starbucks Pavina Double Wall Tumbler
3 people recommended this item
Description
These beautiful mouth-blown glasses are double-walled and insulated so that they can accommodate hot and cold drinks. They are very elegant, but somewhat fragile. I haven't broken mine, but you are given explicit instructions on care and usage. Luckily, the glasses are dishwasher and microwave-safe.

Transparent Toaster

Description
Fancy schamsy toaster. Something I probably would get and never use. Clever idea. I'm very curious if it toasts well or not. With that much design put into it? I'll bet it toasts fine.

Bullet Ice Cube Tray - AK Ice Tray
18 people recommended this item
Description
Novelty ice cubes are a cool addition to any cocktail party or entertaining occasion. When I first saw these, I had a good laugh and thought that would be hilarious floating about in someone's vodka and tonic or iced tea. Killer!
The only thing about these types of ice trays is that its a bit of a trick to get them into the freezer without water going everywhere. Then, getting the cubes out without destroying your "art" can be tricky as well.

Miracle Cloth, The Original Microfiber Cleaning Cloth - Solutions
First to recommend
Description
I hate the colors, but I love these cloths! They make excellent dusting cloths --- picking up everything, including annoying dog hair that is ubiquitous around my house. Using just water, they shine up glass leaving no streaks. They absorb some serious moisture.
The pamphlet that came with them says, "Eliminates 80% of all cleaners and cleaning chemicals..." It's true, you can just use water, unless it isn't appropriate for the material you're cleaning.
There are no chemicals or waxes to wear out, wash away or get on my hands. Now I can stop wasting so many paper towels! I'm able to clean "greener".
To clean them you just drop them in the wash and then put them in the dryer (but be sure not to use any fabric softners on them). I'm ready to buy more! I just wish they came in more neutral colors. (via solutions.com)
