Trudeau Silicone Tea Infuser with Lid

First to recommend

2 people recommended this item

Description

As I've said before, I'm a fan of silicone because of its heat and odor-resistance. This tea infuser and lid make a fun a practical set. The handle on the infuser is flexible silicone string. Both lid and infuser are heat resistant to 482 degrees F - 250 degrees C, and are dishwasher and microwave-safe.

Fusion Brands The Love Handle (Red)

First to recommend

Description

Another simple, yet remarkable idea from Fusion Brands, creators of the fingertongs. This is a pan handle grip that is also a utensil rest. It's silicone, so it conforms to fit all handle shapes and sizes. Heat resistant up to 500 degrees F. Available in black or red. (via cooking.com)

Sorapot

Description

The most modern version of a teapot that I have come across. It's lines are clean. It's design functional and just plain cool. Nothing that I would ever put away, I'd leave it out even though my counter space is limited, just for its looks. Imagine putting a flowering tea inside and watching it unfold.

Sur La Table Stainless Steel Measuring Spoons

Description

I have stainless steel measuring spoons such as these in my kitchen, and use them every other day. I wouldn't trade them for the plastic ones again for a second.

Stainless Steel Measuring Cups

3 people recommended this item

Description

I have a set of these dry measure cups in my kitchen as I write this. I make a distinction between using dry measure for --- dry obviously, and the glass measuring cups for liquids, etc. I don't know that I need to. (I wasn't watching Martha Stewart that day, but there seems to be a difference).

Anyway, they are great for scooping out dry ingredients, or otherwise sitting on the countertop for easy fill. They also clean up great in the dishwasher. (via crateandbarrel.com)

Nesting Measuring Cup Set

First to recommend

Description

Very smart indeed --- measuring cups can take up a lot of space in the cabinet. I'm kind of a purist and prefer glass, but I like this idea a lot. These are for liquids, of course, but would apparently take up half the space as the ones I own now.

Smart stacking design in three all-purpose sizes. Durable, lightweight measuring cups feature round shapes with angled rims, perfect for mixing, whisking and pouring. Easy-read measurements on both exterior and interior; non-skid bases and comfortable handles.

- Polycarbonate
- Plastic rubber handles
- Includes metric measurements
- Dishwasher-safe

Tapered Rolling Pin - Sur La Table

First to recommend

Description

Of the styles of rolling pins I have used, these seem to work the best. Tapered from the middle out to both ends, this no-handle, lightweight maple pin rotates around the dough. Also known as a ''French'' style rolling pin. (via surlatable.com)

Microplane Fine Zester - Sur La Table

I have seriously been after one of these for a long time. Nothing quite equals one when you are trying to get the zest from some citrus, pureeing garlic or my favorite ginger (which is an extreme pain in the ass without the correct tool).

Dimensions: 10¾" x 3¼" x ¾"
Weight: 4 oz.

The fine grater, terrific for zesting, also makes a fast-melting powder for pastas.
Features surgical-grade stainless steel blade, clear plastic frame and ergonomic handle. (via surlatable.com)

Morton and Bassett - Bay Leaves (Organic)

First to recommend

Description

I opened a jar of these recently and "Whoa!" I've never encountered such a potent aroma from a batch of bay leaves. I mean, I look for them to lend a certain "edge" to my stews, soups and beans, but I'm impressed.

Bay leaves add dimension to a wide range of soups, sauces and stews, especially those containing chicken and beef. Seafood benefits from steaming with a leaf or two. Break a leaf and add to your favorite marinade recipes. Essential for tomato sauces and stocks. Remove before serving.

USDA Certified 100% Organic, all natural, salt-free, preservative free, no MSG, non-irradiated, not genetically engineered and KSA kosher certified.

Morton and Bassett Spices - Cinnamon (Ground - Organic)

First to recommend

Description

I use this stuff in my oatmeal every morning. A LOT of it. I'm not sure why I'm so big on it, but to each his or her own I guess. This brand is good, quality spice though. A strong, robust cinnamon, not something that tastes like it has been sitting on a shelf for a year. Hence, the recommendation.

Perfect for sweet comfort foods and baked goods. One teaspoon adds a sweet spiciness to meat and poultry dishes. Awaken renewed interest in carrots and cooked squash by adding a pinch just before serving. Sprinkle on your oatmeal, hot chocolate and morning coffee.

USDA Certified 100% Organic, all natural, salt-free, preservative free, no MSG, non-irradiated, not genetically engineered and KSA kosher certified.

- 2.2 oz. jar
