Mood Music: Like being rocked when you're having a bad day

Now that I am a mom I recognize the power of holding my children, rocking them, and telling them that I love them and everything is going to be all right. Since my kids don't really return the favor, I use Honey & the Moon when I need a bit of solace.

Description

Not only do I love this song and the way it mellows me out, but my son loves it to. Since he was about 4 months old, every time he hears this song he calms down and becomes a happier baby. NOw that's something all parents need from time to time.

Four years later and this is still one of my favorite songs. Everytime it comes on I crank up the volume and start singing my heart out. Yes this is one of those songs that embarrasses you one the highway.

Besides being and all around great song.... this song is fantastic to run to. When you need a little extra oomph... put this one on. I swear the last time I ran my PT test. I passed because of this song.

A killer album that has a lot of memories for me - The Middle, Sweetness, Hear You Me are all fantastic songs off of this album

I could rock out to Sweetness all day - this is definitely music that lives in my head

On the other hand, Hear You Me has a cathartic hold on me. I always think of my grandfather when I hear this song and wonder... what would he think of me now

G Love & the Special Sauce have been making the perfect hang out music for over a decade now and they're latest album Lemonade is no different.

If you've never heard of them I recommend you start with the cult classic, Cold Beverages <go girl work the cold one>.

If you start with the modern day stuff then you'll be happy to know they work closely with Jack Johnson and he even produced this latest album
