!0 years ago blonde woods were all the rage. Maple, beech, birch, white ash. Then about 5 years ago, it was dark woods; cherry, mahoghany..Or, as you probably know them; java and espresso and chocolate wood, since most of the dark woods were stains. But now, anything goes. And there are a million beautiful things made of wood these days. In any shade. Veneer, lasercut, bent. It's a wood wonderland!

Description

A beautiful organic looking form made of teak slats. The teak wood bench has stainless steel hardware and comes in two sizes with some hefty price tags. But then again, this is really a sculpture. Beautiful indoors or out.

This child's desk by Vitra and designed by Hella Jongerius is both brilliantly designed and nice to look at. It comes in pink/brown or blue/olive and has little holes in the wooden top to hold pencils-- hence the name, Porcupine desk. Makes me want to be a kid again.

The latest collection of tabletop audio products from Tivoli is their NetWorks Collection. Available in wengé wood, cherry wood or walnut with a big gold toned speaker and accents, it's bold, it's modern but it still has an organic quality because of the wood housing.

They are not cheap for 9" x 5.5" radios ($599.), but they sure are pretty.
They have stereo systems and CD players within this collection as well.
