Karen Krasne Extraordinary Desserts - San Diego, California
First to recommend
Description
When we go to San Diego, we always make sure to stop by Karen Krasne's Extraordinary Desserts. Her desserts are decadent, delightful, and absolutely delicious.
Our favorites include: Gianduia, Passion Fruit Ricotta Torte, and Dulce De Leche.
If you are ever in San Diego, make sure to stop by one of their two locations.

Famima!!

Description
Famima = Cal-Asian Fusion 7/11. Where else can you go to get a GIGANTIC variety of drinks, semi-decent snacks (sushi, sandwiches, desserts, pastries, mochi ice cream, chicken curry bread), while picking up some neat stationery, and printing out your digipics.
That's right...Famima, where you can have it all (as long as it's somewhat asian)
Now I will say, Famima doesn't have THE BEST food, but it is certainly edible and passable considering it is an extravagant mini-mart.
Famima's perfect to go to for a quick fix, or if you're looking for a energy tea/soda/elixir/japanese gel drink you just couldn't find at your local whole foods.
Look for a famima near your, they are spawning like rabbits in the wild.

Description
The secret to a woman's heart (and stomach) is in this book...and it's on page 204, What dish specifically: It's the grilled cheese sandwich (with pulled pork and red onion marmalade). The book's recipes cover all of the different dishes that Govind serves at his Table 8 restaurant (in LA and Miami), as well as a plethora of great tapas style dishes for every occasion and seduction.
If you just enjoy reading a well written food book with beautiful food pr0n, this is it.
And on a side note, if you live in LA or Miami, do yourself a favor and go to Table 8 and have dinner in the lounge. Wonderful food, beautiful people, taste bud heaven.

Metrokane V1 Vacuum Decanter

Description
The style (and functionality) of classic wine decanters combined with the convenience of a vacuum seal. Completely solves my dilemma about cracking open those special bottles that need a little breathing time...but that I'm not sure I'll be able to finish in one sitting. I dig that it looks like something you'd find in a science lab.
