From Dusk Till Dawn

Description

This movie is awesome! It's nerve wracking horror at its finest. I've excused most of the crap George Clooney has done based on the fact that he has done less than a handful of highly exceptional films. This is one of them.
This vampire, horror extravaganza is directed by Robert Rodriguez and stars Juliette Lewis, Harvey Keitel, Quentin Tarantino, Jim Brown, George Clooney, Salma Hayek and Cheech Marin. (via Amazon)

This movie scared the ish out of me. When me and my friend left the movie theater, a car back fired and we screamed, held hands and ran for the car. So I don't want to tell you too much so you can enjoy it for yourself. (via Amazon)

Bram Stoker's Dracula

I just watched this the other day and, man, it's still as good and disturbing as when I first saw it. I had to turn it off early because it was getting late and freaking me out in my delicate sleepy time state. And God bless, Keanu Reeves' soul; he is sooooo awful its a delight. (via Amazon)

Jacob's Ladder

Description

A frightening film about a Vietnam vet who starts to question his insanity as his horrific nightmares bleed into reality. It turns out that these visions aren't just post traumatic stress, but the side effects of a sinister agenda. (via Amazon)

Little Shop of Horrors

Description

Little Shop of Horrors is about a man eating, alien plant who's ravenous appetite must be satiated. This horror, comedy, movie musical is outstanding! It's full of great, campy musical numbers and ghoulish carnage. Steve Martin is amazing as a sadistic dentist and bullying boyfriend. (via Amazon)

Description

This is a truly touching romance horror movie between a twelve year old boy and "12 year old" vampire in Norway. Sweet but kind of disturbing and not to mention gory. Rated R and definately not for those under 17.
FYI: Apparently the book this was based off of was written long before the Twilight novels.
I highly recommending seeing this one since we're all pretty familiar with formulaic Hollywood conventions when it comes to movie making of any genre. Treat yourself to something unique. This one is a must see. (via Imdb)

The Descent (Unrated Widescreen Edition)

Description

This is one of my favorite horror movies of the past few years. I group of good friends rallies behind one of them who's going through a dark time (lost her family in an accident). They decide to go on a cave diving expedition like the use to in the old days. However, this time around they run into something sinister and deadly. The fight for their lives begins. If you're claustrophobic and afraid of the dark, don't watch this movie. Or maybe you should.

MAKE SURE YOU GET THE ORIGINAL VERSION! The U.S. version has a different ending. Blah. (via Amazon)

The Howling

First to recommend

Description

The 80's had the whole werewolf genre down to a science. Werewolves were the monsters to be afraid of. Forget terrorists. Werewolves, man. Werewolves. Ok, so along with American Werewolf in London, The Howling was pee in your pants scary. Although this movie was straight up horror. No funnies about it. Watch it at night when you're home alone.
