About this list:
As Labor Day approaches, there's still time for making the last big splash of the summer with a pool party, whether it's a chic party for adults, a rowdy splashfest for kids or something in between for the teens, a pool party is a great way to take advantage of the remaining weeks of warm weather. CNN Living turns to party planner Peter Tutera for tips.

Melissa's Produce - Citrus Crate
First to recommend
Description
Oranges can be eaten in many ways -- juiced, peeled and eaten fresh -- but why waste the peel? Peter Tutera suggests using the halves of orange peels as "bowls" for a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
In citrus fruits, it's the vitamin C that is the fat-burning component because it reduces fat’s effectiveness and can liquefy or dilute it so that it exits the body. Add some lemon to your water, drink orange juice, and eat grapefruit in the morning. (via Lady Thrills)

Description
You definitely don't want to serve anything too heavy (either literally, or in the "fattening" sense), so grilled vegetables are the ideal solution for an outdoor end-of-summer party. Grilled corn on the cob definitely needs cob holders for your guest to enjoy with the least mess. (via CNN Living)

Isaac Mizrahi for Target Melamine Dinner Plate in Orange
First to recommend
Description
Paper napkins are fine for an outdoor pool party, and while there's nothing wrong with using paper plates, they're not always the best choice when serving foods that may be heavy or have to be cut. Isaac Mizrahi makes melamine plates for Target that can be used safely outdoors.

Orange Paper Napkins
First to recommend
Description
Naturally, you need orange napkins, both cocktail and dinner size, so your guests don't make a mess. Paper napkins make clean up easier, and since the party is outdoors, no one really expects fancy linens. (via CNN Living)
