Best Of Korres

4 people recommended this item

Description

I was introduced to Korres while in Edinburgh at the Glasshouse Hotel--in a room that was soooo fabulous I had to snap a bunch of pictures of it, before I "ruined" it by throwing my stuff everywhere. The bathroom was huge and modern, with the most amazing soaking tub and these floor-to-ceiling windows. I thought it couldn't get any better. Then I got a look at the house bath products! Yep...Korres.

I've been a fan ever since. The rice shampoo is my absolute favorite shampoo out there. And the grape seed scrub is pretty great, too. This "Best of Korres" body soap set (and more) is an excellent intro to this amazing, natural line of products. Also way more convenient than traveling all the way to Scotland to snag a few "extra" bottles from the maid's cart.

Rose Bath Lights

3 people recommended this item

Description

Most moms I know have their hands full of dying houseplants and convulsing hamsters. Personally, the last thing I want to add to my Household Death Mix are real roses that will immediately crumble and molt into a silty, slimy, soul-crushing mess. If I wanted an autopsy on my kitchen table, I'd buy more ground beef. Bring on the Rose Bath Lights! The rewards are twofold: zero death, and the pleasing low lighting lulls me into a forgetful reverie about my bathroom's propensity to rain tiles and bits of mildewed rotted wood potpourri into the tub. Now I call that a Spa Night!

Before Sunrise/Before Sunset

First to recommend

Description

Every breeding, committed (or in need of being committed) woman needs a good, snuffling, wretched weep now and then over the shimmering, gorgeous What Could Have Beens of her past. Motherhood is great, sure, yadda yadda, we're so blessed, yadda yadda, but sometimes all I want are my jammies, some Kleenex, an empty house, and the visual feast of Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy) yearning their way gorgeously through Europe. (P.S. I want to be Julie Delpy, but I don't know the URL for that. If you find it, email me.)

Aquariass

Description

My moon is in Aquariass. So are the moons of both my daughters...exceedingly often. Since I spend so much time squatting next to the toilet and coaxing toddlers to do their Poo Thang, it would be groovy to have a more interesting visual landscape than the vile wood paneling behind our current throne. Go Fish!

Show me a mother who doesn't need this, and I'll show you a mother with a virtuoso prescriber.

Babeland Crystal Wand

First to recommend

Description

Married to a Lord of the Rings hunka-geek? Tell him hot Arwen gives it a big elven thumbs-up. Possibly, the only thing that could make The Cloud even better [see my list].

What I like about the Wand—not that the Wand and I have been properly introduced, goodness gracious, no!—is that the Wand looks like just another one of mommy's odd hair-taming tools, or a child-safe letter opener. The perfect Mother's Day gift for clever, neurotic mommies who know the difference between discrete and discreet. Not that I know any mommies like that or anything.
