About this list:
Being from a fairly small town, cruisin' on the weekends was one of the few things there was to do. And the appropriate music was a necessity. The mid to late 80s were my prime cruising days. And as much as I love the 80s, the music wasn't always that good. In fact, much of the time it was totally craptastic. But I was into it & prepared whenever I hit the town. Here we go...

Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Welcome To The Pleasuredome
First to recommend
Description
Ok, I was only 14 at the time, and we would listen to it while walking. I suppose, technically, that's not cruising. But we were on the move & sometimes we'd be able to snag a ride.

Billy Idol - Rebel Yell
First to recommend
Description
Wasn't driving yet, so it may not fall into the "cruising" category. But, we listened to it while we were walking. So, I'm gonna count footpower the same as horsepower.

Highway to Hell AC DC

Description
We listened to a lot of AC/DC, and "Highway to Hell" was always in the rotation. Not only was it a great drinking/party song, it served as a musical GPS.

L L Cool J - Radio

Description
LL couldn't live without his radio, and neither could I. A became a fan of LL Cool J's right from the very beginning. For a bunch of rural, white kids, we sure liked rap. I still have this, but now it's on cd instead of my worn out cassette tape.

Poison - Look What the Cat Dragged In
First to recommend
Description
My first reaction the first time I saw the album cover was, "Man, those chicks are hot." My second reaction was, "What the hell? Those are dudes!" But, I bought it anyway & was not disappointed. In fact, this contains what I believe to be the best love song ever written, "Talk Dirty To Me".
This is the 2006 remastered version & contains 3 bonus tracks

Licensed to Ill by The Beastie Boys

Description
One of the best cds (cassette actually) that I have ever owned. I'm still a huge Beastie Boys fan. "Fight for Your Right" was an anthem. But I was partial to "Paul Revere" & "Brass Monkey". I still listen to this today.

Run-DMC - Raising Hell

Description
This was my first exposure to Run DMC, and I was hooked. Everyone knows their cover of "Walk This Way", with Aerosmith. But, "It's Tricky", "My Adidas" and "Raising Hell" were my favorites.

Motley Crue - Girls Girls Girls
First to recommend
Description
I've got everything Motley Crue has ever put out. "Girls, Girls, Girls" was constantly blasting from the car. It let you know exactly what me & my buddies we're thinking about.

Appetite for Destruction by Guns N' Roses

Description
I saw them as the opening act for Alice Cooper not too long after "Appetite for Destruction" was released. Didn't know much about them, had only seen "Welcome to the Jungle" a few times on MTV. Ace Frehley & Faster Pussycat were supposed to be the opening acts, but they bailed. My buddy and I were pissed that we were getting stuck with some "fill in band". After the first song I looked at my buddy and said, "These guys are gonna be f'n huge!" We out the very next day and bought this & never left the house without it.

Definitely in the playlist when we were feeling aggressive. It was also back in the days before music downloads, and Lars was happy.
