I adore Polish pottery. John and I received a bunch of it as wedding and engagement gifts, and use it daily. It bakes well and stands up to a lot of abuse. Plus, it's pretty, handmade, and you can buy it in a wide range of patterns and colors.

I use it for salad greens, kale, herbs and all kinds of leafy bits that need washing and drying. First I fill it up with the greens and cold water to let them soak. Then, I lift the colander out of the plastic tub and drain the water. Next, I rinse the veggies in the colander and put it back in for a long spin dry. I don't make salad without it.
