At the start of this album the album the girls let you know they are not playing around. I love the album and I was drawn to it initially because of Jenny Lewis (of Rilo Kiley fame -one of my favorite bands.) I was captivated by songs like Run Devil Run and Rabbit Fur Coat with their intensity. Along with those I also love You Are What You Love.
MY favorite lyrics of the song is

I used to hit repeat on this CD a lot rainy days. I Hope That I Don't Fall In Love With You, is beautiful and heartbreaking. Tom Waits is a great actor and singer/songwriter.

I Love Rilo Kiley, since I began listening to them some years back. I listen to all their cds and find songs I like for new reasons and old favorites are always great to rock out to again. This album right now is in my current rotation and I am particularly loving "Close Call" at the moment along with the rest of my usual favs. Jenny's voice has a chameleon like ability without really being unrecognizable.

Damien Rice, I have such a thing for you, this is my open letter to you. Honestly, I devoured both this and 9(2006 release) in a matter of an hour. You convey emotion so delicately. Buy his music and I promise you will enjoy them.

God Bless you Nina, your instrument is so amazing. The minute I put the CD on I am in a groove, a I am woman feel these hips, these heart, this mind shake th world around me to its' core. Not in a screaming loud but a quiet secret way. That's Nina - she had so much class. When you listen to her sing about the worst of subjects you can't help but feel her graceful dignity through pain.

I put this CD in and I swear I can do anything, clean my house, get out of an impossible funk by dancing(and singing),feel like I know who I am if there was some murkiness about, it always works! Does wonders for a romantic mood too! I love this album! Thanks Ireland!

My name isn't Suzanne, but the first time I heard the song titled so, I thought, "wow, I won't that song to be about me!" In a weird way it does embody the spirit of me - sort of. Leonard Cohen helped me get through the angst of my college years and then some.

One of the Phoenix children - Rain - is the lead singer to this indie band. Ambient music and soft vocal characterize this cool music. Incidentally, Rain was in a band with her brother River before he died, called Aleka's Attic.

Put this velvety smooth singer when you feel like you want everything to be very sexy. The Ultra Lounge Series has some incredible offerings, this being one of the best! I love so many times I put this CD on and the mood is set - perfect for so many different types of occasions. Friends, lovers, parties all would work seamlessly!

Laugh if you want, I don't care, I will defend this selection to anyone who scoffs at it! I have convinced my music connoisseur boyfriend to love it too really. He argues its' merits alongside me at parties! I take it to parties all the time and before you know it people are asking what it is and all the particulars! I'm Alive is one of my favorite early morning get up and go songs! Many songs on the album are great to dance to - it was Disco!
