Back in the day you had to fight with the spiders to get to the fabulous one-of-a-kind trinkets in the dusty shelves and drawers of this emporium of treasure. I kinda liked it like that but today it's all squeaky clean and not quite the hunt it used to be but they've still got ribbons and findings and buttons and stuff you'll never find anywhere else.

Alright....I'll cop to being a Chinaphile of late. But back in the day ('94) before the fuss was SHANGHAI TANG. Color-personified!! I combed the racks in the New York store and stocked up on everything from silky, sexy , slits to chartreuse Chow-collared jackets. Oh my Gawd I felt sooooo Dynastic! The store eventually closed but the web-site says a New York Flagship opens in Spring. YEAH

There are a few fab things from this company however the Jewelry "Collection 925", designed by Andree Putman, is as cleanly elegant as you can get. Putman, the firebrand design machine spawned this silver collection and I want every piece! (via Christofle Jewelry)
