About this list:
so we've bought our first house. problem is, we're decidedly modern & the house is new england colonial. you can't argue with 'good bones' so we'll make it work by combining clean vintage furniture with some traditional pieces. should be our best balancing act yet.
Qualifications:
i'm living it, right now

Description
Ok, Ok. So you have to skip a few house payments to pay for this chaise BUT can you imagine how amazing you'll look lounging in it?! I smell a photo-op, cocktail in hand, big sunglasses on, paging through paris match. Oh, yeah.

Description
A perfumed furniture polish? Why YES, when it's a natural wax with essential oils in offbeat scents like 'black pepper'. You layer your scents on your body, why not in your living room too? Sexy.

Klein Reid Still Life Porcelain Wood

Description
The best answer to 'What do I do with my fireplace in summer?'. This faux bois has more edge than the tired, old pillar candle arrangement & is a better conversation starter. Great for non-functioning chimneys too or as still life in a sleek, austere environment.

I LOVE Japanese fabrics! They have such a cool, graphic look & both a modern & ancient feel. These pillow covers from Yokomono Studio are handstiched & perfect for a neutral sofa.

I love these Starfish Tables from Matthew Izzo. They're classic slice + hairpin leg forms with newer proportions. Really great.

cargo mushroom stool

Description
I LOVE this gorgeous mushroom shaped stool, hand-carved from mango wood. At 18.5" tall, a pair would look fab flanking a low platform bed, in a grouping on the terrace or as a dressing table stool. So pretty.
