Cha Cha Cha Restaurant

Description

This is an AMAZING Cuban/Caribbean food restaurant off of Virgil Ave and Melrose. From the outside, it looks like a small colorful shack, complete with thatched roof… but inside it is like a funky, eclectic chuck-e-cheese for your taste buds! Fried plantains, Paella, Chicken Carioca, Jerk Chicken dishes, Sangria… its all soo good. I ran by it one year while I was running the LA Marathon and the exterior intrigued me. Being a lover of Caribbean cuisine, I took a chance and made a point to check it out… I’ve been going back ever since.

The Temple Bar - Santa Monica

An eclectic music venue in Santa Monica on Wilshire & 11th. I have been going to listen to all types of music there for years and have heard everything from jazz to hip-hop…it’s just a great venue where indi-artists mix with world-renowned musicians to have a good time and appreciate the art. The first time I took the stage there to sing my own songs was surreal because I have been such a fan of the venue, but I took a deep breath, dove in and it was great!!! The Temple Bar represents music in Los Angeles for me…and they have great Mojitos so you can’t go wrong!

Evolution Jewels

It might sound like nepotism because it IS my mother’s line of jewelry, but put that aside and its just beautiful stuff! Every piece holds meaning and is a symbol of the things we sometimes forget in this crazy, frenetic world. My favorite are the harmony rings…it is three interlocking bands inscribed with the words “intention,” “purpose,” and “direction”… because you need all three to accomplish anything. I wear 3 of them every day in silver, white and yellow gold, and ALWAYS get complements on them! I’ve watched as it grew from a mere idea in my mother’s mind, to a full blown, high-end line of inspirational jewelry sold world-wide! She has taken pains to make sure its sweat-shop free, and that the manufacturing is as eco-friendly as possible…revolutionizing the process along the way. It makes me proud, and makes Evolution Jewels one of my favorite Los Angeles born & bred products.
