The disgruntled soliloquies, the discarded remains of adult disillusion superimposed over male angst, and the all knowing blues poetics rammed up the back end of Grinderman's self titled album is a welcome addition to my Nick Cave playlist. The scrappy guitar noise and thick power-mad drum on bass atmosphere gives these dark Grinderman songs of love gone wrong a physical sound that begs your attention. It's good road music--I'll drive to it
