Haba Dream Meadow
3 people recommended this item
Description
Our baby loves her Dream Meadow. As soon as it arrived, I unpacked it and set her down inside to play. She immediately began to smile and talk to the animals and flowers and the hanging rattles (sold separately). This is a beautiful alternative to the other baby gyms on the market. The soft padding is wonderful, plus it's lightweight and easy to move around.

Our teething baby loves Sophie. She's great to hold and chew on and makes squeaky sounds when you squeeze her. All natural rubber and nontoxic paint. Love it!

Description
Searching for baby items at a local consignment shop (retail isn't the only way to shop for good stuff!), we found a great infant sleep sack by European vendor Sucre d'Orge (only they call it, more lovingly, a sleep nest). I'd never heard of the brand, but it was a quality product with a sweet design. After our baby was born, a friend sent a gift from Brooklyn -- the cutest winter hat by Sucre d'Orge! It's a quilted and lined burgundy pointed cap with orange and magenta trim, and the extra-long flaps double as a scarf. Wish I could show you a pic online, but, trust me, just check out the site. Their items are so sweet and made to last! (via Sucre d'Orge)

Maya Wrap, Baby Sling Carrier
First to recommend
Description
Forget the Baby Bjorn, or any of those unattractive, bulky baby carriers. This is definitely the way to go. Simple, sensible and stylish. The design is based on the time-tested, baby/mom-friendly way that Mayan women in Guatemala carry their babies. It's straightforward construction: one long piece of hand-woven Guatemalan fabric and two rings that let you adjust the fit for you and your baby. You can carry a newborn, or even a toddler, and nurse hands-free at the same time! The extra fabric length provides a discreet cover that you just drape over your shoulder when nursing. Ideal for attachment parenting, or just keeping baby close to you in the "4th trimester." (via Maya Wrap)

The Lalapanzi Bed
First to recommend
Description
The best! Our solution to avoiding the hideous Pack 'N Play. This is such a soft cozy bed for your baby, and it's lightweight, making it so easy for you to move from room to room. The sheet is washable and it comes with a travel bag, just roll it up and go! One of the greatest gifts we received for our new baby. (via Baby Mabel's)

Dreamland

Description
Putumayo has great music collections, and why not introduce a newborn to quality global music instead of all those battery-operated tinny sounds coming out of plastic toys?

Description
Cold & flu season is upon us. New baby on the way. Makes sense. But no need to further erode our natural antibodies with "anti-bacterial" toxic soaps. Go clean naturally and keep everyone healthy!
