About this list:

almost all movies bore me to bitter, bitter misery. i'd rather read a book and use my own imagination to create the pictures in my head, but there are a few that, yes, i can watch. there is neither rhyme nor reason to this list because with movies, like boys, i have no "type." it just has to be something that rips into my heart and mind.

immortal beloved makes me shiver and weep every time i watch it. yes, it's kind of a love story, but i love it for the portrayal of tormented genius.

i know. every freakin' one loves this movie, right? right. it's funny. it's entertaining. it's got a nice little "message."

what did it for me was hearing a student read from A Separate Peace at the end. that broke me.

oh yeah, and the fact that i don't really like merlot either.

Description

there are very few movies that can really capture my attention because if it doesn't make me think hard about it for days afterward, it isn't worth it. memento is one movie that is still all tangled up inside my head.

Description

from the girl who has a love/hate relationship with weddings, i lovelovelove this movie. i identify with almost every part of this movie. jules is a food critic - my dream job! michael is her best friend with whom she thinks she is in love - been there! george is her gorgeous gay boyfriend (george makes me burn, but in a totally platonic girl/gay boyfriend way) - i have them too!

Little Miss Sunshine

23 people recommended this item

Description

so technically, Little Miss Sunshine starts out somewhere in arizona, but if you're from LA, you know that Dinah's Fried Chicken (what they're eating at the dinner table) in on sepulveda right near LAX and that Pann's (the diner where Olive eats chocolate ice cream) is a diner on Centinela.

LA, represent!

by the way, Little Miss Sunshine made me laugh so hard i cried and cry so hard I snorted.

or something like that.
