Nevermind - Nirvana
6 people recommended this item
Description
I can't exactly recommend this because I don't know how to describe the feelings that you get once you listen to this album; it's like numbing. You don't get that whole get-up-and-dance type of feeling when listening to say..something like The Birthday Massacre's "Walking With Strangers", but you don't get that whole i'm-gonna-kill-myself-with-a-few-neckties feeling like Kurt. His music presents passion, teenage angst, some sort of philosophy and the want of being independent. I was so used to the whole jump around Green Day and Red Hot Chili Peppers movement in the nineties I never realized that there was a gravitational pull towards Nirvana that you couldn't describe.

I swear, Robert Smith is Edward Scissorhands' twin. I'm guessing Tim Burton must've been a fan of The Cure.

Before "Ys" I was sort of on the fence about Joanna Newsom; now I heart her with all my love. I think this is probably the only time in my life that I'll be obsessed with someone who plays harp.

Violator: Depeche Mode

Okay, so, my mum got me hooked on 'em. And I would have to say that if I had never heard Marilyn Manson's version of "Personal Jesus" I might have actually liked that song, but no, he had to ruin it for me. Oh well, back to Depeche Mode, I can't imagine one person I know that hates them, and for a good reason.

Wow. How do I even begin to explain this band... hmm. IMPECCABLE. No. That doesn't even state it. Of course not, it's a million word description that's what it is. I wish I could give you some sort of song recommendation list, which basically this is, but I see that everyone has different music tastes, so I'll just state that I've had a jolly time listening to these songs: The Comedown, Suicide Season, The Sadness Will Never End, Diamonds Aren't Forever, and Death Breath. Now, before you decide to purchase this cd, why don't you listen to those following songs, and they'll cover the basics so you can get a feel of this cd, but only to those unintroduced to BMTH.
