Neil deGrasse Tyson: The Pluto Files
First to recommend
Description
The strange and somewhat emotional ride of the planet/ not-planet Pluto. It's Neil deGrasse Tyson tracks the history and science surrounding it.
Brilliant and timely, historical science at its best.

How We Believe, 2nd Edition: Science, Skepticism, and the Search for God: Michael Shermer
First to recommend
Description
Rather than taking the Dawkins, Dennet, Hitchens approach on "religion as irrationality" argument, Shermer, the founder of the Skeptics Society, takes a look at why we believe, how we believe and the benefits and dangers of faith.
He maintains that science and faith are compatible and can be mutually supportive for the individual, but often in conflict when it involves fundamentalism or literalism.
A brilliant book about the origin of faith and religion, he leaves it up to the reader to be inspired by what and how they believe

Chemistry Tshirts: Johnny Drinks H2SO4
First to recommend
Description
Johnny was a chemist's son
But Johnny is no more.
What Johnny thought was H2O
Was H2SO4
I love this shirt, it combines the best of dark humor and science geekery. It looks so innocent, and it looks so friendly... and it's always fun when you wear it, the curious and befuddled looks you sometimes get.
You can almost see the hard drive light blinking as they're accessing the high school chemistry files in their brain. Then it hits! OMG Thats sulfuric acid! exothermic in water and one of the strong acids!
It doesnt matter if you think the shirt is funny or just plain wrong... at the very least, its good advice.
Dont Drink Sulfuric Acid. (via ThinkGeek)

Darwin '08 - Darwin for President | New York City Skeptics

Description
There have been a precious few people who have attracted my attention this election cycle. However, this is a guy I can totally get behind. He's bright, well traveled, redefined science as we know it and he'd probably pick a superb running mate.
However, there are a few problems.
1: He's British
2: He wont win Kansas or Florida
3: The pundit comedy almost writes itself
4: He's no longer living.
I'd vote for him in a heartbeat! (via NYC Skeptics)

Squishy Brain Stress Toy
First to recommend
Description
Sometimes when the pressure is on your "real" brain, you need to get another one. This one handles pressure and stress quite well. In fact, you can throw it, dunk it, squeeze it and you wont get any permanent damage :)

The Universe - The Complete Season One (History Channel): The Universe: Movies & TV
Recommended for wiredd who wants A DVD about science, using I Want on Facebook.

Description
Probably one of the most elegant and descriptive documentary series about the universe, physics, and evolution... the universe dvds are just amazing.
with prominent scientists like Neil Degrasse Tyson, they break down even the most complext issues (like space-time and quantum physics) into understandable concepts for people who arent physics majors.

Ask Me About My Death Ray! T-Shirt
First to recommend
Description
When I saw this shirt on Printfection, I knew it would go very well with my ever-growing collection of retro-tech tshirts.
The design is so simple, and classic and I just love the friendly way it invites you to ask me about my death ray.
To be honest, my death ray is just a flashlight with a copper grip and a vivid imagination, but that's only because people dont like funding "death-rays". oh well. (via Printfection)
