MUMSA 3-Piece Dinnerware Set

First to recommend

Description

I've never found sippy cups all that inspiring, but this piece in Ikea's Mumsa dinnerware set loooks fun. It picks up the slack for the other pieces, but, if your kid bites her sippy cup like mine does, this poor guy will look mangled before too long. (via Babygadget)

Description

I can't really get behind a wig made for a baby, but this baby's head is worth the time it takes to type these words.

Knitting never seems all that interesting until you have a kid. One of those changes you just don't see coming. (via rosapomar)

I'm not sure how many leg-warmers are too many leg-warmers for a little kid, but these are really cute.

Toddler Moc-a-Soc

First to recommend

Description

What makes the Moc-Soc so amazing, as any parent knows, is that infants cannot keep shoes on their feet while crawling around, bending ankles and feet in all directions with their extreme flexibility, and simply grabbing and pulling at shoes on feet. For occasions when a standard pair of socks looks a little underwhelming, Moc-a-Soc offers a great alternative, designed to look about as close to a real shoe as a sock can.

There's a Wocket in My Pocket!

First to recommend

Description

An effortless read, this is as fun to hear out loud as it is funny. Lovers of language can't get too old for this kind of thing, but there's magic in telling this story to a child that gives it a bit more life. Match the awe and wonder in the eyes of a listening audience with the cheeky narrator's POV as the story unfolds for added suspense.

Singable Songs for the Very Young: Great with a Peanut-Butter Sandwich, by Raffi

First to recommend

Description

I find this man's music, lyrical content, and incomparably sunny disposition particularly grating, but baby really gets into it. "Baby Beluga" has now managed to become a family classic, and there's even a song called "Robin in the Rain" that I've come to be able to stomach much in the same way I occasionally put up with Magnetic Fields.

Baby Beluga, by Raffi

First to recommend

2 people recommended this item

Description

It took me so long to come around to this book and to the overall genius of Raffi (who I still don't like and find kind of creepy but am forced, through first-hand experience, to concede his brilliance and igniting small children's sensibilities), but this is a book I have to recommend. The sing-song quality of the verses, coupled with the infectious, repetitive chorus, is simply addictive to a small child. And if you get the audio disc of Raffi himself singing it, the dynamic becomes even more explosive. There's also something about a cute little whale who lives in a fantastic universe where man and animal live together peacefully, but you're infant will mostly be interested in the tune.
