This was the first album I purchased by Sigur Ros. It is stunning and beautiful. You can even read the English / Icelandic lyric translations if you go to http://alwaysontherun.net/sigur.htm. See the most popular track's music video (Svefn g Englar) on YouTube by using the via link. (via youtube.com)

Description
This album is hard to find. It was their first album, and not very popular outside of Iceland. It is a good album. The best track is Hún Jörð (Mother Earth).
Translation in English is something like this: "Our Mother, who art in Earth, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done On us as it is in you. As you send Thy angels every day, Send them to us aswell And forgive us our trespasses As we forgive those Who trespass against you. And lead us not into sickness, But deliver us from evil, Because yours is the earth And the body And the health Amen."
Have a listen on YouTube. (via youtube.com)

Description
This is a fabulous song. I listened to Erykah interview about the meaning - she says the music is bigger than religion because we all nod our heads to the same beat no matter what name we give to our father in heaven.
The lyriacs start "Humdi Lila Allah Jehova Yahweh Dios Ma'ad Jah Rastafara fyah dance, sex, music, hip-hop"

Rossz Csillag Allat Szuletett: Venetian Snares: Music

Description
This electronic album is beautiful, but I have a hard time listening to the whole thing because some of the music tends to get brutal and manic. However, the tracks that are amazing are just that - amazing. They have an old world hungarian style mixed with modern electronic. The best tracks are Öngyilkos Vasárnap and Hiszékeny. Check out Öngyilkos Vasárnap at YouTube on the via link. (via youtube.com)

Description
This entire album is amazingly beautiful. I recommend purchasing the album over the mp3s just because its such a keeper. I like to collect the CDs of my favorites so that I have all the album notes, and such. It's worth the listen, though. Was produced for an Icelandic film of the same name "Angels of the Universe" which is based on an Icelandic novel about a schizophrenic. Very hard to get a hold of that stuff.

Description
I love this whole album. Simple. Melodic. Great message. My favorite track is Jack Johnson's "Breakdown." It became my mantra when I was diagnosed with a brain tumor two years ago.

Krákan - Eivør Pálsdóttir - TUTL

Description
I love this Icelandic album by Eivør Pálsdóttir. Mostly vocals with a folk feel to it. Can't find it online except at TUTL (from Iceland). I'm not exactly sure what the price is. It's 120 Krona. Favorite tunes are "Nú Brennur Tú i Mær" and "Sum Sólja og Bøur" but really the whole album is a good listen. Listen to Nu Brennur on YouTube via the link. Hauntingly beautiful, and in farose.
