Zoe Heels by Christian Werner
First to recommend
Description
If these were my feet, I would take them to the nearest hotel room.
__________________________________________________
German industrial designer Christian Werner spent the large part of his career conceptualizing and designing shoe shelves that would display shoes in the best possible light.
However, what was to be a routine shopping trip in Amsterdam on a fine day in 2006 birthed an inspiration and desire in Werner to try his hand at designing shoes.
His idea was simple enough: remove the bulk of the material in a normal wedge heel, leaving only the silhouette, since it’s the wedge’s silhouette that is responsible for the shoe’s allure.
The challenge, therefore, was to find a material that can support the weight of the wearer. Werner experimented on aluminium, first sketching out a cardboard model, and then a polished aluminium prototype, and the Zoe was born.
At six inches tall, Werner’s “hollowed out” wedge Zoe heels look like a tall order for any woman to walk in, but the open aluminium frame makes the wedges look elegant and light on the feet.
And lest you still have any lingering doubts, the leather straps that warp around your feet and ankles not only provide additional safety, they also make you feel incredibly sexy. The price for a pair of these limited edition Zoe heels? 2,500 Euros.

Spyker C12 Zagato
First to recommend
Description
Yes, please.
I will bring my own theme music and costume. Purrrr....
About the car:
"Can you imagine a luxury supercar, dressed in the finest and most exotic materials on the outside and bearing an extraordinary chassis within? One made with all the experience of a racing brand, evoking a sense of awe and mystery – much like the hidden depths of a beautiful woman’s eyes. Can you imagine the excitement when the object of beauty also reveals a rich heritage?
That, in its essence, sums up the new Spyker C12 Zagato, which espouses the bespoke philosophy in its purest form – and takes your breath away, much like an incredibly beautiful woman. Only 24 reproductions of this exquisite work of art will be made (starting March 2008), which endows the word “exclusive” with a whole new meaning and heightens the pleasure of ownership.
Its proud creators are none other than Spyker and Zagato, two of the world’s most notable automobile manufacturers. Established in 1898 and 1919 respectively, both companies played important roles in the history of motoring and aviation with their advanced and aerodynamic cars.
The birth of the Spyker C12 Zagato marks an emotional return to the years when a car was truly a one-of-a-kind creation, akin to a work of art, and created by expert artisans with little help from machines. The launch of this ultra-exclusive car also celebrates Spyker’s entry into the world of Formula One, which began with its acquisition of the Midland F1 team in September 2006.
Futuristic in design – the brainchild of Zagato’s Norihiko Harada – this coupé is considered the quintessential collector’s car and features several F1-type details: a pointy nose, chimney pot-style air scoops and rain lights. Its all-aluminum construction is reinforced with stainless steel roof rails, which enables it to strike the perfect balance between strength and lightness.
Powered by a 6.0-liter Volkswagen W12 engine, this rear-drive sports car produces 500bhp and can accelerate from 0 to 60mph (0 to 100km) in 3.8s – not bad for a car that weighs 3,197lbs (1,450kg). If one’s courage stands up to the challenge and there’s little risk of being apprehended by the authorities, the Spyker C12 Zagato can be pushed to a topspeed of 193 mph (310km/h) – though only on a very long straight.
Over and above its high-performance capability however, the Spyker C12 Zagato is a celebration of all things luxurious. This is highlighted by its full leather interior, brushed aluminum instrument panel and Chronoswiss instruments by the luxury watchmaker. As with all fine things in life, quality comes at a price. In this case, €495,000 before taxes."

Erwin Sattler Trilogie Clock

Description
I have the unsettling feeling that if left alone in a room with this clock I might touch it inappropriately.
It even has a USB port. Swoon.
About the this clock:
"German clock manufactory Erwin Sattler celebrates its fiftieth anniversary with an impressive horological creation, the extraordinary Trilogy. As one might infer from the name, this piece combines three highlights, a precise table clock with 15-day power reserve, a programmable Sattler Rotalis watch winder with USB port and as a world premiere the first Sattler wristwatch anything elegantly presented on a wooden base and protected behind an automatic opening crystal cover. This 18K gold winding mass is limited to just 150 pieces to completely raise the value of this collectors trophy."

Benelli Tornado Tre Motorcycle
First to recommend
Description
May I introduce you to my ride? And to the one I will hopefully soon be stepping out on her with.. The heir and the spare, so to speak... I put up pictures of both.
The Tornado Tre and the Naked 1130. purrrrr..... Yes. I do need two. One for the track. Bite your tongue.
If you have a clever little "aww, look, a wee little leprechaun bike for a wee little Irish girl" cracks, put your mouth to better use. I've heard them. All of them. Ha ha and ha. Say it louder, please. At 155 mph it's hard for me to hear your wittiness.
There is nothing "wee" about these beasts. I was leaning towards an MV Augusta (wouldn't have been a bad lean- great bikes) and then nearly swayed after a visit to the Ducati factory in Borgo Panigale last year to slide over that way.... but then I met the Benelli. Oh. My. God. I was in love.
It was a bright and cloudless day. My mood was, as usual, volatile with just a touch of narcissism and an underlying base of genetically encoded guilt. I was moseying to my car when suddenly... god I still smile when I think of it... a Benelli pulled in next to me.
I know a bit about bikes. I even go to bike shows with all the shiny, happy new models. And have always been prone to the Italian stallions. But I had never, ever seen a Benelli.
The gentleman who owned it was kind enough to let me fondle it unabashedly. Had there been a side table, I would have left some money on it when I walked away. I really, really loved that bike.
And it turns out that I'm not the only one who gets hot and bothered around them. Fast forward a bit and now it is my baby who gets manhandled when people see it. It's a truly stunning bike in person and very rare to see on the road. So if you're in the market for something to free your mind and let your soul have a bit of fun, give Benellis a look.

From the site:
The Benelli Tornado Tre was first seen in 1999, and heralded the revival of the Benelli superbike.
One of the most striking features of the Benelli Tornado is its futuristic design. Including stacked headlights, flush mounted indicatiors, aggressive side panels, and angular seat unit with an under-seat mounted radiator with fans visible from the rear.
Powering the Benelli Tornado Tre is an inline three-cylinder engine producing 140 horsepower. This is mounted in a chrome-moly steel tube and cast aluminium frame.

If nothing else, take the time to watch the This is Spinal Tap video clip on the opening page. God I love that movie.
