Description
Kyuuto! Japanese Crafts! Lacy Crochet! -- Kyuuto! = Cute!
Savvy crafters know that today's hippest designs hail from Japan.
--------------------------------------
The people at Chronicle Books have snapped up the 'Japanese Crafts' trend that has steadily been swapping over to America and Europe since about three years, and they just started their "Kyuuto! Japanese Crafts!" series!
This is really exciting, as I have predicted, already in 2004, that it would probably not be before 2008 that we in the West are going to see English editions of our favourite Japanese crafts books. And now look!
Each book in their new series features patterns in English, plus the beautiful photos that are so typical for Japanese craft books.
p.b. "kyuuto" means "cute" in Japanese; it's one of many non-Japanese words that were literally adapted.

Eco-Brella Recycled Umbrella (Eco Incentives)

Description
You know, with all the Greenhouse effect and earth warming problems (not to mention resources and splurging on precious energy) and how industry and marketing has discovered these as a great niche to place their foot in, I am pretty worried where this will lead us to.
Evo Incentives, however, picked up a great idea - if you already have to hand out incentives, then why not pick such that are made from up to 100% recycled materials? Take these umbrellas, for example. Eco Incentives explains,
"The Eco-Brella is the first Environmentally Friendly Umbrella! This 6-panel telescopic umbrella comes complete with a recycled case, and a conventient recycled cotton carry strap. The unit when folded down is just 15cm in length, and weighs a mere 181g.
- Frame made from Recycled Steel and Aluminium
- Canopy and Case made from 100% Recycled Polyester
- Notch/Runner/Ferrule made from 100% Recycled Nylon
- Handle made from 100% Recycled PET (plastic bottles)
Environmental Benefits:
Made from Recycled Materials
Dimensions: 15cm Folded
Dimensions: 87cm Span when open "
So, all you marketing people and decision makers, do consider the right kind of incentive! If you have to give out stuff, make a good choice and give eco-friendly! (via treehugger)

Description
If you are like me, with a sad history of your favourite totes and bags messed up from honey packs and honey straws (others take sweeteners and sugar with them, but honey is for me), then you'll love Honibe honey drops.
"The Honey Drop™ is made with 100% all natural, pure dried Honibe honey. No additives. No artificial flavor. We also offer a Honey Drop™ with lemon. This is made with 100% all natural, pure dried Honibe honey and pure lemon. A tasty combination!"
Honey drop comes in either plain Honibe or with lemon, and it sells in boxes of 20 at roundabout $12. They can be ordered right at the site.
Now that spring is setting in in this part of the world, these really seem to be an essential for every honey lover who sits out in the green with a cup of good tea. And everyone else, too, of course.

Description
I have just put this on my list of purchases for next month. Right now, I carry between two to four data storage devices with me, and it's getting a bit much. Plus, I can never remember what data is on which device.
The DataTraveler, which comes in 1 and 2 Giga plus card reader, really seems like I'm going to have it much, much easier soon. Minimize is the next trend!

Description
If you don't know the designer Orike Muth yet (based in Hannover / Germany), then you really must get to know her. She's my hometown favourite!
She designs and screen-prints all fabric and papers at her inspiring studio in the Linden neighbourhood in Hannover; each item in her little shop and in her webshop is handmade.
These paper mâche boxes, egg- or heart-shaped, are the latest addition to the creative line over at the Muth House, and it's true eye candy!
You've seen vintage-style paper mâche easter eggs (which are adorable, btw.), right? Now what about these beauties? They make great decoration objects at every stylish household, too!
