Nars Lipcolor in First Bite

Every year or so I find a lipstick color that I just LOVE. There is always something slightly different about the actual color, the texture, lasting power, the finish, the flavor and/or…the tube. I now have mine for this year – First Bite from NARS! This color is a very warm, deep peach/red with very fine gold shimmer. It’s so warm, deep, rich, and velvety going on my lips.

This color actually brings to mind the color of fresh-baked, warm, brown sugar apples ... complete with shiny, shimmery, hot caramel-red glaze. For a night sexy nude lip I would add just a touch of lipgloss on top to make it extra-glossy, and I think it looks so perfect for autumn and winter, but really year round! This will make a great “your lips but better look” up to about an Aisha Tyler complexion. (via palacinka)

NARS Lip Gloss in Stolen Kisses

Description

With my skin tone and strong lip pigmentation, this color was just amazing on me. It became a gorgeous deep rose with a chocolate undertone once applied. This is just a very very pretty color that I mixed with various eye/cheek combinations. The pigmentation in this one is very high and it's a silky smooth gloss. It has a swab type applicator. This product is for a high impact shine, which I lean towards in my glosses anyway. The texture is not tacky and there's hardly a scent in this. Nars once again comes through with a terrific product! This is a very versatile color which will work up to about an Iman complexion and warm and cozy for autumn, but will work year round! (via palacinka)

NARS Blush Mounia

This is my new favorite cheek color! Its a pretty coral-red-berry. Mounia gave me warm rosey cheeks - very bold and glowing. Note: Unless you are in the Alex Wek skin tone range, you must apply this blush in layers as the pigments are extremely rich. One too-heavy tap of the brush and you could be prone to a "clown cheeks" effect. What I would do is swirl my brush on the mirror before application and this helped to distribute the pigment and cut down on splotchiness. Mounia also makes a great lipcolor!

Apply a glossy lip balm, swipe a clean finger on the blush and dab/blend it on your lips. Instant red lips! i wanted to try something new, out of the ordinary. also something i could wear during the fall. I recommend this to anyone with an adventuresome heart and a love for vibrant blushes.! This is a beautiful blush, looking like you just had a sunny day out or a jaunt in the park. It is a deep warm shimmer rose brick - almost red but not quite, a little more rose in it - very pigmented (via palacinka)

I can't believe I was lucky enough to review this product! Yes, the packaging is truly modern and lovely – beautiful white square that is like a sculpture, but the performance also really impressed me. This gave me exactly what I wanted quick moisture, nice pleasant scent that is still unique, light feel on the body. Not greasy at all, this was so perfect. This product is terrific for someone who wants tons of hydration without the creamy residue left on the skin. I used this product every morning and my skin has never been softer. The smell is yummy too. Think orange groves….Brilliant luxury purchase! (via Sephora)

NARS Hydrating Freshening Lotion

I have always had high hopes that I would find a toner that would be worthy of the extra skin care step, but I have not always been impressed. However, after using this for toner for several weeks, I can say that this is a great product! It didn't irritate or dry out my sensitive/combination skin, or give me that tight feeling that some toners have. It also didn’t sting like some toners can.

This toner has a transparent gel texture and removed flaky skin in one swipe with no irritation. One squirt on a pad was enough to swipe my face (or just t zone). I loved the fact that it’s non-scented and didn’t make me break out. In fact, my face started to look amazing after using this product.

Putting this toner before my moisturizer greatly calmed those areas and my skin felt softer and looked healthier. Since my skin texture was better, my makeup application was more even and looked better. I loved that I didn't even have to use a moisturizer some days after using this.
NARS skincare also happens to have some of the best looking packaging I've ever seen among skincare brands. It is also a huge bottle, so it is completely worth the price tag. (via Palacinka)

NARS Nail Polish in Arabesque

This a great glitter polish that actually looked like it does in the bottle on my nails! Every time I wore this, someone asks, "What color is that!" It’s clear polish packed with a ton of pale pink micro glitter. I love the glitzy pink of this nail polish! It is definitely a party look. To get the full effect, you really need more than one coat. When I applied two coats it made my nails look like sparkling jewels.

Note: I found that a good topcoat kept it chip free for weeks on my toes, and about a week or so on my fingers.

It’s absolutely with the price for such a pretty, unique color, and a very large bottle (mine lasted forever using it regularly). This also looked amazing on my toes. This will work on all skin tones and one coat also makes a nice twist on the French manicure nail too!

Editor’s Note: Make sure you apply a basecoat on first. It makes it much easier to remove it. (via Palacinka)

The Multiple by NARS in Maui

I’ve used many NARS products over the years, but never a multiple! I was as pleased as I thought I would be. This was the perfect product to use in the morning when I needed to get out of the door quickly or on the weekends when I just needed a basic look. I used this on my eyes, cheeks and lips and find it excellent for all three. The texture is a little dry (so if you have very dry skin a moisturizing primer is essential!) but I that's why it's so long-lasting. I applied it with my fingers, blended well and created a nice stain on my lips, and a nice flattering color on my eyes and cheeks.

With this and a little liner, mascara and powder and I was ready in five minutes! This shade is a dusty, pinky peach, the perfect shade for me! This shade has enough red to give a me fresh looking cheeks, but also enough orange/pink tones to really warm it up in a sophisticated way. I just looked really healthy and glowy when I wore it. Also it seemed to bring out my eyes dramatically. It’s incredibly flattering and also very versatile. It has a great stay-put texture without being drying or cakey – my color didn’t fade at all during the day. This particular shade will work very well up to a Beyonce complexion. (via Palacinka)

Nars Makeup Primer SPF 20

If you have drier skin like me, and are looking for a great primer that also has sun protection, then this is a great choice.

I found that a little of the medium/thick-weight cream went a long way to cover my face in the morning before applying my makeup. It went on smoothly and sank in fairly quickly. I found it very moisturizing and it also did not give my skin a grayish cast, despite the sunscreen ingredients. Throughout the day it did a very effective job of keeping my makeup in place (no running, streaking or dry patches), even on hot/humid days and several business trips via plane.

This is a very nice little skin luxury from the master NARS!

Note: This formula will work best on drier/combination skin as it may be too heavy for oily skin. (via Palacinka)
