Moonbeam Clock

Description
The Deco style looks really great on a bedside table. And the prospect of being awoken by gentle illumination? Sold. There's a back-up alarm bell for heavier sleepers who are a little nervous about relying on sunrise alarm clocks.

Simple Wooden Alarm Clock

Description
So clean. I cannot imagine a more perfect specimen in the world of zen alarm clocks. Beech wood instead of plastic, so it fits in with decor while performing it's daily task of reminding me I have a job to get to. (via Michael Niely)

Alarming Ring » Yanko Design
6 people recommended this item
Description
Simple, non-jarring (it wakes you through vibration, not eardrum piercing alarm) and ideal for two sleepers who get up at different times. Or one sleeper who has yoga some mornings, but not all of them.

Wooden LED Clock
33 people recommended this item
Description
You have gorgeous wood floors, heirloom wood furniture - you even have those wooden salad bowls from the 70s - so why not a wood clock? A stroke of designing brilliance, this clock is made of LED lights layered under a wood veneer. When the clock's off, it looks like a minimal decorative object - when the clock's on, the large numbers glow through the wood.

Sonoro Cubo

Description
I love the compact metal style of this cube. The perfect dorm-room alarm clock for sure! It functions in the category of loud alarm clocks 'cause the CD function means I can queue up whatever kind of music I need for the wake-up call: Norwegian Death Metal if I gotta be up early. (And maybe a little Jack Johnson if I just need a nudge to get me to 11 a.m. yoga.)

Stand Up To Wake Up, Simple As That » Yanko Design
3 people recommended this item
Description
Easy enough. Hear the alarm and transition to your feet to turn off the mat. While you're up, take a big, day-welcoming stretch. An interesting concept in the realm of zen alarm clocks, and simple to store just under your bed for when you're not trying to wake yourself up.

Neverlate Executive Alarm Clock
4 people recommended this item
Description
Awesome flexibility here: 14 different alarms. That's 7 days of "His & Hers" individual alarms, if you want to share. The MP3 connector means I can use my iPod and cue up my own wake-up jams (and turn 'em up to 11 so I don't miss the the board meeting.) Holds it's own against other loud alarm clocks and stylistically, one of the better-looking options for those of us looking for iPod alarm clocks.

Problem: Create a clock that writes the time.
Verbarius answers the question "What time is it" writing a different reply every time it's asked: it's either fory-five minutes past four, or fifteen minutes to five, or fourty-five, or a quarter to five. (via moco Loco)
